In this role, you won’t just be managing databases; you’ll be the ultimate guardian of our data’s performance, security, availability, and governance, while directly fueling the insights that drive our business forward. This position is vital for ensuring the security, reliability, and high availability of our database environments. Working cross-functionally with Development, QA, and Operations, you will implement operational best practices, streamline deployment pipelines, and maintain proactive monitoring across all environments. In addition, in this role, you will lead data analysis efforts to deliver trusted, actionable insights across the organization. By developing and maintaining sophisticated Power BI dashboards and reports, you will directly support strategic decision-making within our engineering, operations, and business teams. This is a hybrid work opportunity. font-size: 14pt;">Manage, maintain, and optimize company databases for performance, reliability, security, and scalability</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Perform database administration tasks (primarily relational, with exposure to NoSQL)</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Create and manage database users, roles, and permissions to ensure proper access controls</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Monitor database performance and troubleshoot bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and indexing issues</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Evaluate and tune queries, indexes, and configurations to optimize database performance</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Implement and maintain data security controls, including encryption, auditing, and compliance measures</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Establish and enforce data governance policies and procedures across the organization</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Document database administration procedures, security protocols, and governance frameworks</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Ensure data integrity and availability through robust backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights supporting business decision-making</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Design and implement logical data models that inform physical design and scalable architecture</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Build usable datasets that expand access to self-service analytics and improve decision-making</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Write maintainable, testable, efficient code that is clear to engineers unfamiliar with the system</li> </ul>   Minimum Qualifications:   <ul> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Bachelor's degree in any field or equivalent experience required</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">5 years of experience in a database administration (DBA) role or equivalent</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Experience managing production database environments for reliability, performance tuning, access control, and security</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Experience partnering with Development/QA/Operations to support deployments, environment health, and incident response</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Experience building or maintaining dashboards/reports (Power BI and/or Tableau) and performing structured data analysis for business users</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Expertise with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server) including schema design considerations, query tuning, and index strategy</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Strong skills in database monitoring, profiling, and troubleshooting (capacity, bottlenecks, query performance, indexing)</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Working knowledge of database security and access controls, including roles/permissions, auditing, and encryption concepts</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Experience with backup/recovery concepts and supporting disaster recovery preparedness (validation, documentation, restoration readiness)</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Familiarity with scripting (Python, Bash) for automation and operational tooling</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Experience supporting data governance practices (e.g., lineage, security, quality, governance)</li> <li style="font-family: 'times new roman', times, serif; font-size: 14pt;">Ability to translate business needs into analytical deliverables (datasets, reports, dashboards) and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders</li> </ul>   The salary range for this role is $121,679 - $147,639 with a target compensation of $121,679 - $137,625 based on experience and qualifications.   <div class="content-conclusion">Compensation is commensurate with experience and includes a generous retirement package.
