Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Install, configure, and maintain database management systems (DBMS) and related software with an emphasis on automating routine deployment tasks.

* Monitor and optimize database performance using tools like New Relic or AWS Cloudwatch to transition from manual oversight to automated alerting and reporting.

* Develop and implement database backup and recovery plans, ensuring these processes are fully automated and tested for disaster recovery scenarios.

* Manage and monitor database security and access control, implementing automated security protocols to protect sensitive data.

* Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, focusing on building scripts to proactively identify and fix connectivity or data integrity issues.

* Develop and maintain comprehensive database documentation, including data models and schemas, to create the structured foundation required for future AI integration.

* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and data privacy policies through automated auditing and reporting.

* Participate in the design of database systems, collaborating with IT staff to replace legacy manual workflows with streamlined, automated solutions.

* Perform database tuning and optimization, utilizing automated scripts to ensure consistent, optimal performance.

* Develop and implement automated maintenance procedures, specifically transitioning manual data purging and defragmentation into scheduled, autonomous tasks.

* Plan and implement database upgrades and migrations, focusing on reducing manual downtime through automated migration scripts.

* Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

* Able to work in i-City office and standby for prolonged hours when required.

* 1โ€“3 years of experience in database administration or a related field, with a strong focus on process automation.

* Foundational knowledge of DBMS such as MariaDB, MySQL, SQL Server, Redshift, Timestream, Cassandra, Flink, Kafka, or Redis.

* Strong knowledge of database security and access control.

* Familiarity with backup and recovery procedures, disaster recovery, and high availability concepts.

* Experience with database monitoring tools, such as New Relic or AWS Cloudwatch.

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, specifically the ability to identify manual bottlenecks and propose automated solutions.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

* Ability to work independently and manage multiple automation projects simultaneously.

* Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality, automated workflows.
