Data Manager

The Data Manager is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, integrity, and availability of operational and financial data across the organization. The role leads enterprise data quality initiatives, reporting standards, records management, and business data governance while partnering with IT to ensure systems support business requirements. The Data Manager provides reliable management information to support decision-making, regulatory reporting, customer service, and operational efficiency.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Management 
•    Develop and maintain enterprise data standards and business definitions.
•    Monitor and improve data quality across all business units.
•    Identify data issues and coordinate remediation with business teams.
•    Establish controls to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
•    Oversee master data management processes.

Data Quality & Controls
•    Perform ongoing data quality monitoring and exception reporting.
•    Implement data validation and reconciliation controls.
•    Monitor key data quality metrics and trends.
•    Coordinate root cause analysis for recurring data issues.
•    Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.

Reporting & Analytics
•    Manage operational and management reporting.
•    Ensure reports are accurate, timely and standardized.
•    Develop dashboards and KPIs for Executive Management.
•    Support Board, regulatory and management reporting.
•    Coordinate reporting requirements across business units.

Data Governance
•    Maintain the enterprise data dictionary.
•    Define data ownership and accountability.
•    Ensure compliance with records management policies.
•    Support regulatory and audit requests relating to data.
•    Promote data governance best practices across the organization.

Records Management
•    Oversee operational records management framework.
•    Ensure documentation is retained in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements, where appropriate.
•    Monitor adherence to document retention schedules.
•    Support digitization initiatives.

Continuous Improvement
•    Identify automation opportunities.
•    Partner with IT on system enhancements.
•    Improve reporting efficiency through Power BI, workflow automation and data visualization.
•    Lead data improvement projects.

Stakeholder Management
•    Liaise with Operations, Finance, Risk, Compliance and IT.
•    Support business users with reporting requirements.
•    Provide training on data quality standards and reporting practices.

Requirements/Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Analytics, Engineering, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or Finance, Accounting, or Business with demonstrated systems experience
•    IT specific qualifications or certifications, a plus 
•    Up to 5-7 years of experience in data management, business intelligence, operations or banking. 
•    Strong knowledge of data governance and data quality frameworks.
•    Experience supporting regulatory reporting and audits.
•    Demonstrated success leading process improvement and automation initiatives.
•    Strong attention to detail 
•    Excellent organizational and documentation skills
