Data Platform Lead

Your Impact :
At Rexel Group, reporting to the Head of Data Engineering and part of the Platform Engineering team, we are looking for a Data Platform Lead to ensure the reliability, operational excellence, and continuous evolution of the Group Data Platform.
You will own the day-to-day operations of the platform across Snowflake and its associated Azure ecosystem, while supporting countries throughout their migration and onboarding journey. You will act as a key technical coordination point between Group teams, country teams, architects, infrastructure, cloud and security teams, and external partners.
You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of the platform by driving technical evolutions, Proofs of Concept, automation opportunities, and the pragmatic adoption of GenAI and Agentic practices.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
1) Ensure platform reliability and operational excellence:
Oversee the day-to-day operations, availability, performance, and stability of the Data Platform
Lead Snowflake administration, including roles, permissions, access management, monitoring, and operational support
Ensure the operational maintenance of the Azure services supporting and integrating with the Data Platform
Identify and mitigate operational, security, performance, resilience, and cost risks
Drive incident resolution and continuous improvement of operational processes, standards, and documentation
Work closely with infrastructure, cloud, security, network, and data teams on cross-functional topics
2) Drive technical evolution and innovation:
Manage and prioritize the technical evolution backlog in collaboration with architects and Tech Leads
Lead the qualification, impact assessment, and execution of technical initiatives and Proofs of Concept
Translate POC outcomes and technical analysis into clear recommendations and decisions
Identify opportunities for automation and operational efficiency across the platform
Promote the pragmatic adoption of GenAI and Agentic practices to improve support, operations, documentation, incident analysis, and technical delivery
Ensure new practices and solutions comply with Group security, governance, and quality standards
3) Support countries and secure successful migrations:
Act as the technical lead and point of contact for countries migrating to the Group Data Platform
Coordinate Group, country, and partner teams throughout the migration journey
Qualify, prioritize, and track technical requests, incidents, dependencies, and blockers
Support countries with technical prerequisites, onboarding, operating models, and platform best practices
Ensure a smooth transition from migration to stable run operations
4) Coordinate stakeholders and drive visibility:
Act as the operational reference for platform administration, support, and technical topics
Coordinate closely with the platform technical owner, architects, Tech Leads, Group data teams, country teams, and technology functions
Provide clear visibility on platform health, risks, priorities, trade-offs, and ongoing actions
Contribute to the definition and enforcement of platform standards covering operations, monitoring, security, access, and documentation
Qualifications
Engineering degree (or equivalent) with significant experience in Data Platform, Cloud, or IT operations
Strong hands-on knowledge of Snowflake administration and operations
Strong knowledge of Azure cloud services, infrastructure, connectivity, and integration
Good understanding of modern data architectures and cloud-based data platforms
Strong understanding of security, access management, monitoring, resilience, performance, and cost optimization
Experience working in complex, international, and multi-stakeholder environments
Ability to combine operational ownership, technical expertise, and cross-functional coordination
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a pragmatic and solution-oriented mindset
Interest in GenAI, Agentic approaches, and automation applied to IT operations and technical delivery
Fluent English; international and multicultural experience is a plus
Additional Information
Rexel offers an attractive compensation package with a 13-month base salary and an individual performance-based bonus. The company also provides a profit-sharing plan and additional benefits (health insurance, retirement plans, transport and meal allowances, etc.).
