Job Description
The Opportunity:
Mattel is seeking a Data Quality and Data Governance Analyst, based out of our Technology & Innovation Center in Hyderabad, India, reporting to the IT Director for Enterprise Data and Analytics. The person filling this role will be responsible for maintaining and improving the organization’s data quality and governance standards by leveraging tools such as the Collibra Cloud Intelligence Platform and Python-based automation. Day-to-day activities will include developing and monitoring data quality metrics, implementing governance workflows, managing data lineage and stewardship, and enforcing data policies across business units. This role will also require collaboration with other teams to ensure data consistency, integrity, and adherence to regulatory standards
What Your Impact Will Be:
- Design, implement, and maintain data governance frameworks, policies, and processes in alignment with enterprise data management strategies.
- Leverage the Collibra Cloud Intelligence platform to manage data quality, create workflows, and maintain data lineage and metadata documentation.
- Develop, monitor, and report on data quality metrics to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of critical business data.
- Utilize Python for data validation, cleansing, and automation of governance tasks, ensuring efficient and repeatable processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment on data standards and compliance requirements.
- Demonstrate a self-starter mindset with strong ownership, consistently delivering high-quality work on time and proactively identifying opportunities to improve data governance and quality processes.
- Identify and address data quality issues by conducting root-cause analysis and implementing corrective measures to uphold enterprise data quality standards and ensure trusted data delivery.
- Develop and maintain a centralized business glossary and data catalog to support clear and consistent communication of data terms.
- Ensure compliance with relevant data privacy regulations, security standards, and best practices.
- Document and continuously improve data governance and quality processes based on industry trends, standards and organizational needs.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Business Analytics or other related field. MBA is a plus.
- 3+ to 5 years’ experience in implementing and managing enterprise data governance programs utilizing tools such as Collibra Cloud Intelligence Platform, with a focus on data quality metrics, lineage, and stewardship.
- Hands-on expertise in developing and automating workflows within Collibra, leveraging its native capabilities and APIs and integration using RESTful APIs, JSON, and XML for efficient data governance automation development.
- Proficiency in Python for automating data quality and governance tasks, including developing custom scripts for data checks, validation, and integration with the Collibra platform.
- Ongoing maintenance and enhancing of data pipeline traceability matrices for data pipeline lineage using tools like Collibra APIs, Python, and metadata frameworks, ensuring end-to-end visibility from data sources to business reporting.
- Ability to integrate lineage metadata from tools such as Ascend.io, Cloud Composer, dbt into Collibra to support compliance and impact analysis.
- Experience in creating, maintaining, and enforcing data governance policies, procedures, and standards to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reliability across the organization.
- Knowledge of data quality frameworks and best practices, with a strong focus on monitoring and improving data quality using advanced tools and technologies.
- Collaboration with Collibra and infrastructure administrators to ensure a stable, secure, and high-performing environment for development, deployment, and ongoing platform operations.
- Familiarity with integration of Collibra with other enterprise platforms and tools (e.g., ETL/ELT tools, data lakes, and BI tools) to enhance unified governance and metadata management.
- Demonstrated ability to build and manage data dictionaries, glossaries, and lineage tracing within Collibra to support transparent and compliant data usage across business functions.
- Familiarity with SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) principles and practices, including an understanding of Agile methodologies, ceremonies, and tools. Certification would be a significant advantage.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
