About the role  

The Data Quality Specialist is HammondCare's subject matter expert for enterprise data quality, responsible for establishing and continuously improving our Data Quality Management Framework. The role provides assurance and oversight of critical data assets that support operational, regulatory, reporting, analytics and AI outcomes. 

 

Combining technical expertise with governance, assurance and stakeholder engagement, the Data Quality Specialist leads initiatives that improve the quality, integrity and reliability of enterprise data It will suit someone who is confident performing hands-on data quality engineering, analysis and problem solving, as well as engaging with stakeholders to identify and address data quality risks, implement effective controls, and drive sustainable improvements in data management practices. 

 

By developing a deep understanding of HammondCare's business processes, systems and data flows, the Data Quality Specialist plays a key role in ensuring information remains accurate, trusted and fit for purpose throughout its lifecycle. 

 

This role is critical to building confidence in HammondCare's data, enabling informed decision-making, supporting regulatory obligations, improving operational effectiveness, and helping the organisation safely realise the benefits of data, analytics and AI. 

 

This is a fixed term contract for 12 months at St Leonards with hybrid opportunities.

Key Responsibilities include 

  • Establish and continuously improve HammondCare's enterprise data quality framework, standards and controls. 

  • Design and implement automated data quality monitoring, validation and assurance processes across critical data assets. 

  • Investigate complex data quality issues, perform root cause analysis and drive sustainable remediation outcomes. 

  • Partner with business and technology teams to improve data quality, governance and accountability. 

  • Develop data quality metrics, dashboards and reporting to provide visibility of risks, trends and performance. 

  • Support trusted reporting, analytics and AI initiatives by improving the quality, integrity and reliability of enterprise data. 

  • Drive continuous improvement in data management practices, data governance and organisational data maturity. 

 

About You   

  • Commitment to engage and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission, Motivation and Mission in Action 

  • At least 5 years demonstrated experience in a similar role 

  • Comfortable balancing hands-on technical work with stakeholder engagement, translating complex data challenges into practical business outcomes. 

  • Strong ownership mindset and accountability 

  • Ability to influence without authority 

 

Essential  Skillsand Experience 

  • Demonstrated experience establishing and implementing enterprise data quality frameworks, controls, monitoring and assurance practices. 

  • Strong experience in SQL, ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines and modern cloud data platforms. 

  • Experience leading investigation and remediation of complex data quality issues and driving continuous improvement outcomes. 

  • Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, data lineage and information management principles. 

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders across business and technology teams and communicate complex issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
