Job Title
Data ScientistOverview: This position is a member of the Merchant Solutions Data and Analytics team.
The Data and Analytics team supports and delivers insights to all the lines of business inside the Fiserv ecosystem. We identify new areas of growth for our partners through analytics, help our partners throughout the organization make strategic decisions using data, and leverage the vast amount of data at Fiserv to help move the business forward using data-driven insights.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide analytics support to all our lines of business across a variety of business-critical areas.
- Perform root cause analysis of changing trends to identify performance drivers.
- Conduct quantitative analysis and analyze large volumes of data to identify trends in the business cycle and value opportunities.
- Collaborate across teams to work with various stakeholders at the organization who may have different specialties than yourself.
- Clearly and concisely communicate results of analysis both written and verbally.
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science, etc.
- Ability to handle large datasets using SQL, R, Python, or another similar programming language. Working knowledge of a data-presentation technology (Foundry, Tableau, PowerBI, etc.) is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering, Computer Science etc.
- Passionate about using data and analytics to solve problems and eager to learn about payments systems and the payments processing market.
- Internship or other experience in an analytical/quantitative role.
- Flexibility, perseverance, and ability to thrive in a rapidly-changing, fast-paced, and demanding environment.
- Skilled communicator with ability to influence others.
