JOB TITLE: Data & Visualization Analyst
MAIN LOCATION: Jordan, Amman
Role Summary:
Responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data visualisations and dashboards that drive strategic decision-making across the organisation. This role focuses heavily on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) tools, particularly Looker and Looker Studio, with additional support for Tableau. Power BI and other tools are used as needed but are not core to the role. The analyst will also contribute to conversational AI initiatives using Looker’s integrated capabilities.
Objective:
Deliver high-impact, user-friendly visual analytics solutions using Looker, Looker Studio, and Tableau. Leverage GCP infrastructure to support scalable, secure, and performant data experiences. Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate analytical needs into actionable insights and support conversational AI integrations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build dashboards and data visualisations using Looker, Looker Studio, and Tableau
- Develop and maintain LookML models, explores, and views to support scalable data architecture
- Integrate Looker with GCP services (BigQuery, Cloud Functions, IAM) for secure and efficient data access
- Support conversational AI experiences using Looker’s embedded analytics and natural language querying
- Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to define KPIs and ensure consistent metric definitions
- Optimise dashboard performance and usability across platforms
- Maintain documentation and version control of visualisation assets
- Participate in agile sprint planning, backlog grooming, and stakeholder reviews
Key Skills:
- Visualisation Tools: Looker (advanced), Looker Studio (advanced), Tableau (intermediate), Power BI (basic)
- Cloud Platform: Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, IAM, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub)
- Data Modelling: LookML, SQL (advanced), dimensional modelling
- AI Integration: Experience with conversational analytics, embedded Looker, and natural language query tools
- Development Practices: Agile, Git version control, CI/CD awareness
- Soft Skills: Strong stakeholder engagement, communication, and problem-solving in cross-functional teams.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
Experience: 3+ years in data visualisation and analytics, with demonstrable expertise in Looker and GCP
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Looker and LookML
- Strong SQL skills and experience with BigQuery
- Familiarity with Tableau and basic understanding of Power BI
- Experience with GCP services and secure data access protocols
- Exposure to conversational AI and embedded analytics
Soft Skills:
- Strong analytical thinking and business acumen
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to work independently and in agile teams
