Job Title

Demand Planning Analyst

Job Description

The supply chain is a crucial driver of Axis's growth. As we grow, it is essential to enhance our operations to support our ambitious goals and seize new opportunities. To ensure our global supply chain operates at peak performance, we require the most accurate forecasting data available. We are looking for a Demand Planning Analyst to join the Demand Planning team at our headquarters in Lund, Sweden.

Who is your future team?
As part of the Demand Planning team, you will join a group responsible for forecasting and planning future demand for Axis's diverse product portfolio. Our team comprises seven Demand Planners—each specializing in different product categories within our three Head Sales regions—one Team Lead, and one Sales Unit Segmentation Owner. Through regular collaboration with regional sales and operations teams, we gather valuable market insights and distribution data to anticipate future trends and plan effectively.

As a member of the Demand & Supply organization, our team plays a crucial role in the cross-functional Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process. We work closely with Material & EMS Supply, Sourcing, Finance, Product Management, Enterprise Sales Projects, and Global Order Management to ensure the right products are available at the right time. This alignment enables strong customer experience and long-term profitable growth.

What you’ll do as Demand Planning Analyst?
As a Demand Planning Analyst, you will take ownership of our statistical forecasting framework—leveraging our planning tools (such as Maestro)—to ensure our models evolve alongside our product portfolio. You will balance high volume, predictable demand with the nuances of low volume, intermittent sales patterns. You will manage and refine the logical categorization of demand segmentation for demand planning.

Your role bridges advanced modeling with hands-on planning operations. You will manage regular forecasting cycles for your assigned product categories. By combining historical sales data, new product introductions, end-of-life plans, and ground-level market knowledge, you will validate and refine our global forecasts.

You will also act as a partner to our Sales Unit Segmentation Owner, supporting the regular sales unit segmentation updates.

Key responsibilities:

  • Statistical Framework Optimization: Manage, configure, and refine the statistical forecasting setup in Maestro, ensuring models are tuned to deliver high-quality baseline forecasts across different demand segments.
  • Model Calibration & Low-Volume Strategy: Implement specialized forecasting logic (such as handling intermittent or slow-moving demand) to reduce bias, handle outliers, and improve service levels.
  • Demand Planning and Forecasting: Produce regular global product forecasts for assigned categories, track product life cycles, set ramp-up plans for new products, and align with the sales budget process owned by Finance.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor forecast accuracy metrics (such as MAPE and Bias) and iterate on models to systematically drive down error.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Sales, Supply Chain, and Product Management to integrate statistical baselines with real-world market intelligence and promotional planning.
  • Product Segmentation & Portfolio Support: Partner with the Sales Unit Segmentation Owner to maintain a dynamic segmentation strategy (e.g., ABC/XYZ analysis) based on demand variability and sales volume.

Who are we looking for?
We are seeking a data-driven, structured individual with a strong analytical mindset and a collaborative spirit. You are curious, eager to learn, and comfortable bridging technical statistical concepts with day-to-day business needs. You possess excellent social skills, enabling you to build trusted relationships across organizational and cultural boundaries. You thrive in an environment where you can take initiative, drive process improvements, and take ownership of results.

We’d love to hear that you have:

  • Education: A master’s or bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience: 4+ years of experience in supply chain disciplines, ideally within an international setting, including hands-on experience in demand planning.
  • Technical & Modeling Expertise: Proven experience working with advanced statistical forecasting tools and planning platforms (experience with Maestro or similar Advanced Planning Systems is highly preferred). Strong grasp of forecasting algorithms (e.g., Exponential Smoothing, Croston’s method, Regression models).
  • Data Proficiency: Strong analytical foundation with skills in data manipulation and visualization (e.g., SQL, Python/R, or Power BI/Tableau) to extract insights from large datasets.
  • Communication Skills: The ability to translate complex statistical outcomes and model adjustments into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
