Georgia Power is committed to delivering clean, safe, reliable, and affordable energy to customers across the state. As customer adoption of residential, behind-the-meter (BTM) distributed energy resources (DERs) continues to grow, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant grid integration and witness testing has become increasingly critical to meeting customer expectations and maintaining system reliability. Witness testing is on-site inspection conducted by the utility to verify that a DER safely and correctly interacts with the electrical grid before granting permission to operate.
The DER Project Management Analyst will play a pivotal role in supporting Georgia Powerâs DER efforts, ensuring safe interconnection of residential solar and storage systems. This position will lead end-to-end coordination of residential BTM witness testing activities for power delivery, including scheduling, contractor coordination and training, workflow execution and process improvement, data analysis, and communicationsââwith customers, installers, and internal stakeholders.
This role is essential to ensuring Georgia Power can meet rising demand, address new testing complexities introduced by BTM solutions, and maintain high standards for accuracy and compliance.Â

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate and schedule a high volume of BTM witness testing
- Coordinate and oversee a team of contractors who will perform witness testing across the stateÂ
- Oversee the allocation andâŻutilizationâŻof resources to meetâŻcustomer timelines Â
- MaintainâŻclear communication with internal and external stakeholders, including customers,âŻsolar installers, andâŻcontractors
- Support workflow enhancements and operational efficiencies, leverage data and automation to enhance efforts and insights to drive scalable processes and systemsÂ
- Onboard and train new contractors as the need arisesÂ
- Make technical decisions on testing outcomes and update testing procedures
JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills)Â
- Bachelorâs degree required (engineering, business, technology, management systems, operations, or related field)
- Experience in project management, distributed generation, power delivery, or data management preferred
- Ability to interpret technical procedures and testing results to ensure accurate reporting and to support decision-making preferred
- Strong organizational and analytical skills to manage complex scheduling, resource coordination, and procedural compliance
- Ability to deliver data-driven decisions and summarize efforts through key performance metricsÂ
- Ability to generate field data-based reports with actionable insights to address gapsÂ
- Excellent listening, written and verbal communication skills and strong capabilities to interface with and solve problems for internal and external stakeholders and customersÂ
- Ability and willingness to prioritize safety in operations for themselves and contractorsÂ
