The Director of Customer Data Management (CDM) will report to the Vice President of Operations and serve as a key leader responsible for the execution and continuous improvement of customer data capabilities. This role will oversee the accurate intake, maintenance, and governance of customer data, while driving operational excellence and enhancing the end-to-end customer and stakeholder experience.

This leader will play a critical role in advancing data management processes, supporting technology initiatives, and driving efficiency through standardized and scalable solutions. The role requires a balance of strategic thinking and tactical execution, with a strong focus on delivering quality outcomes, improving processes, and supporting a customer-centric culture.

What you can expect:

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the Customer Data Management function, ensuring accurate, timely, and efficient processing and maintenance of customer data.
  • Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies through standardization, automation, and optimization of data management workflows.
  • Support the implementation and enhancement of data exchange capabilities (e.g., APIs, file feeds) to improve how customer data is received, validated, and maintained.
  • Monitor and manage data quality metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities to improve accuracy and reduce rework.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Technology, Product, Underwriting, Distribution, and Operations to ensure seamless data integration and alignment across systems and processes.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on customer data processes, providing guidance and support to internal stakeholders and ensuring adherence to established policies and controls.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure appropriate controls, governance, and audit readiness related to customer data processes and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and proactively resolve data-related issues and customer pain points, driving improved service outcomes and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Support and execute on strategic initiatives and transformation efforts, ensuring alignment to enterprise goals and operational priorities.
  • Develop and deliver reporting and insights to leadership, highlighting performance, risks, and progress against key initiatives.

What you’ll need:

  • Proven leadership experience in Customer Data Management, operations, or a related function within financial services or insurance.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, and data lifecycle management principles.
  • Demonstrated success in driving process improvement, operational efficiency, and execution of transformation initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate ambiguity in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and partner across functions.
  • Experience leading and developing teams, with a focus on engagement, performance, and growth.
  • Strong organizational and execution skills, with a proven ability to deliver results.
  • Enterprise mindset with the ability to identify interdependencies and drive alignment across teams.
  • Experience with project management and continuous improvement methodologies.

What we offer you:
Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $147,100.00 to $220,700.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
