This Director, Data Solution Owner role is responsible for leading the development, and delivery of scalable analytics and AI-enabled data solutions that advance business priorities and drive measurable outcomes. In this role, you will partner closely with data engineering, data insights, and business stakeholders across NAOU to design, build, and scale enterprise data products that enable data-driven decision-making and deliver business value.

The role translates NAOU data priorities into trusted data products, analytic capabilities, and execution roadmaps. It bridges business strategy and technology delivery by aligning product vision, governance, priorities, and release plans with broader Digital and Data teams.

The ideal candidate brings technical fluency, executive communication, and an enterprise mindset, with the ability to align stakeholders and guide cross-functional teams toward scalable, secure, governed, and outcome-driven solutions.

Core Responsibilities:

Data Analytics & AI Technical Product Ownership

  • Technical Solution Design & Alignment: Partner with architecture, engineering, analytics, governance, and business teams to shape technical solution designs that meet business needs, align with enterprise standards and platform strategy, and support future-state data capabilities.
  • Insights and performance: Apply knowledge of source systems, data architecture, transformation logic, semantic models, reporting layers, KPI definitions, and business rules to guide product decisions and ensure solution design reflects how the business measures performance.
  • Governance, Quality & Trust: Validate data mappings, metric logic, quality requirements, metadata, lineage, ownership, and remediation plans to ensure data assets are trusted, compliant, reusable, and governed.
  • Data Validation & Decision Support: Use SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and cloud data platforms to validate data, analyze patterns, and support product decision-making.
  • Innovation, AI & Modernization: Identify and embed AI capabilities and automation into data tools and business workflows to accelerate insight generation and improve decision-making.

Data Solution Strategy, Portfolio Leadership & Value Realization

  • Define and communicate data solution vision, strategy, roadmaps, and success measures for a portfolio of data, analytics, AI, and digital products.
  • Align data product priorities, investment recommendations, funding decisions, and trade-offs to enterprise strategy, business objectives, user needs, and measurable value opportunities.

Agile Delivery & Cross-Functional Execution

  • Oversee STM (source to target mapping) documents and deployment processes to ensure data solutions follow the KO framework, meet governance expectations, and are ready for production release.
  • Provide strategic oversight for prioritization, release planning, delivery governance, and cross-team execution.
  • Manage scope, dependencies, risks, resources, roadmap commitments, and release readiness.
  • Track execution progress, remove barriers, escalate risks, and communicate key decisions, trade-offs, and delivery status to stakeholders and leaders.
  • Drive Agile product management practices that keep delivery teams aligned to product strategy, governance requirements, and value outcomes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Analytics, or a related field.

  • Working knowledge  of Microsoft Fabric, Azure, Power BI, Databricks, AI/ML, GenAI, automation, or enterprise data platforms.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, semantic models, reporting, self-service analytics, data governance, data quality, and enterprise metric management.
  • Knowledge of SQL and the ability to perform data exploration, analysis, validation, and quality assessment.
  • Experience partnering with engineering, architecture, governance, analytics, and business teams to deliver scalable data and technology solutions.
  • Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, storytelling, and influencing skills.
