Job Overview & Responsibilities
The Director, Procurement Governance is responsible for establishing and leading the enterprise-wide procurement governance strategy and overseeing the Contract Management function. This role is responsible for establishing, maintaining, and continuously improving procurement policies, controls, and compliance standards across the enterprise. This role ensures procurement and contract management activities are compliant with policies, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and strategic objectives while driving operational excellence, financial objectives, transparency, and accountability across the purchasing and contract management activities.
The Director, Procurement Governance combines strong knowledge of procurement & contract management processes with the ability to influence procurement, legal, finance, compliance and internal audit stakeholders in a complex environment to balance strong governance with operational agility.
- Procurement Governance & Policy: Design, implement and maintain enterprise-wide procurement policies. Ensure alignment with enterprise processes and controls, and regulatory requirements. Lead periodic policy reviews and updates to reflect business, regulatory, and operational changes. Drive consistent application of procurement standards across all business units. Lead all aspects of day-to-day operations including effectively operationalizing the negotiated contracts and ensuring any issues are properly addressed.
- Contract Management: Oversee and enable the Contract Management group, ensuring contract lifecycle excellence and consistent application of contracting standards across business units, mitigating risk and creating operational efficiency. Standardize contract templates, clause libraries, and procedures in partnership with Legal. Lead implementation of technologies supporting digital advancements in this space. Ensure timely contract turnaround and adherence to service-level expectations.
- Enablement: Embed governance requirements into processes and systems. Drive adoption of governance standards through training, communication and stakeholder engagement. Continuously refine processes to remain innovative, efficient, and industry-leading. Continue build of Procurement Institute training curriculum for each GP persona and drive adoption training plans
- Supplier Governance: Lead the governance continuous improvement of the supplier risk management and Responsible Sourcing programs. Establish policies, standards, and controls embedded throughout the supplier lifecycle. Partner with Enterprise Risk, Legal, Compliance, Cyber, and business stakeholders to ensure consistent risk assessment, due diligence, and monitoring practices. Drive standardized governance, reporting, and performance metrics that provide actionable supplier governance insights and support informed business decisions.
- Leadership: Lead and develop a high performing team, act as a trusted advisor to leadership and stakeholders. Influence cross-functional stakeholders to promote a culture of accountability, integrity and compliance. Track and evaluate team’s performance and attract, develop and retain talent in the department.
Qualifications
What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):
- Bachelor's Degree
- 8+ years of related experience in procurement policies and contract management
- Demonstrated experience implementing governance fameworks in complex organizations
- Proven ability to design enterprise procurement governance and internal control frameworks
- Strong Knowledge in contract lifecycle management and contract management technologies
- Strategic thinking skills, using sound judgement
- Excellent communication skills
Proven ability to aprtner with leaders and influence without direct authority

- Demonstrated understanding of the capabilities and limitations of generative AI tools and efficient leverage of AI to support research, analysis, content creation, and problem solving. Application of critical thinking to validate AI-generated outputs, while adhering to organizational policies for responsible AI use, data privacy and security.
- Master's Degree
The base pay range for this role is $159,790.00 to $207,998.00.
The base salary range/hourly rate listed is dependent on job-related, factors such as experience, education, and skills. This position is also eligible for bonus and/or long-term incentive compensation awards.
