Job Description

This position leads efforts towards institutional effectiveness through data management and utilization, institutional assessment, and performance monitoring systems that translate evidence into measurable improvements in student success and organizational outcomes. The incumbent brings experience in implementing strategic plans, project and change management and is key in achieving the goals of both our strategic plan and Riverland’s Equity 2030 goals through the optimization of college processes and systems to promote continuous institutional improvement.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESULTS

Examples of key duties are interpreted as descriptive and not restrictive.

1.Lead Institutional Effectiveness efforts in systematic organizational analysis, assessment, and performance excellence efforts.

  • Working in partnership with college leadership, the Director of Institutional Research, Technology and Learning Resources, Student Affairs, and other areas of the college, build and maintain a comprehensive data management and assessment plan that will enable Riverland to access and utilize data to improve service to students and achieve our equity goals.

  • Build institutional capacity for data utilization and data intelligence to drive continuous improvement across all institutional work and initiatives.

  • Direct data utilization, perform data analysis, present data analyses, and facilitate discussions and application of data analysis at all levels of the institution.

  • Provide training and leadership in strengthening Riverland’s culture of data decision-making and data storytelling.

  • Employ predictive analytics to guide student success initiatives and strengthen annual planning efforts. Collaborate with academics, advising, and other areas of the college to provide evidence in support of the Higher Learning Commission, federal compliance, and other specialized accreditation reports and site visits.

  • Work in partnership with all areas of the college to select and implement a customer relationship management (CRM) system that supports the college mission.

  • Support the development and planning of external funding initiatives and lead grant projects that align with the college strategic plan.

  • Build capacity for innovation and organizational learning.

Priority:  Essential             Percent of Time: 40%

2. Facilitate Strategic Planning.

  • Facilitate the implementation and tracking of Riverland’s strategic and short-term plans utilizing 4Dx or other similar methodology to ensure strategic goals are met across the institution.

  • Collaborate with all areas of the college to ensure that divisional and departmental strategic and short-term plans support the college strategic plan.

  • Work with Communications and Marketing to promote Riverland’s strategic plan.

  • Be attentive to internal and external forces that will impact Riverland.

  • Collaborate with all areas of the college to develop an integrated program and service level evaluation model that supports strategic planning, annual planning, and budgeting.

  • Support the President’s Cabinet members in their roles as executive sponsors of the strategic plan and facilitate ongoing monitoring of the work.

3. Project and Change Management.

  • Serve as Riverland’s Project and Change Manager for special projects. Provide leadership and support for college and system initiatives.

  • Implement a formal framework for both project and change management at Riverland for all projects and initiatives. Train faculty and staff to utilize the framework to increase efficiency and effectiveness of college projects.

  • Build institutional capacity for both Project and Change management.

Priority:  Essential                 Percent of Time: 20%

4. Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth functioning of the department and maintain the organization's reputation as a viable business partner.

Priority:  Secondary                   Percent of Time:        10%

Salary Range

$30.76 - $ 45.26 / $64,227.00 - $94,503.00

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum three (3) years of related work experience -OR- Bachelor’s degree plus two (2) years of related work experience -OR- an equivalent combination of education and experienced.  An associate degree could be substituted for 6 months of experience, a bachelor’s degree is 12-months and a master’s degree is 18-months within any of the following disciplines:  strategic planning, research, organizational assessment, performance excellence or related.

  • Strong knowledge of statistical methods, statistical analysis, computer programs and software packages.

  • Group facilitation skills and experience.

Preferred Qualification 

  • Doctoral degree in strategic planning, research, organizational assessment, performance excellence or related.

  • Preference will be given to those with advanced education or experience related to formal research, evaluation, and strategic planning facilitation.

  • Experience at a Hispanic Serving Institution.

  • Direct experience with projects related to educational equity and/or education for social justice.

  • Bilingual/multilingual fluent in Spanish, Karen, Karenni, Somali, Pohnpeian, French, Nuer, Anuak, or other languages that reflect our student body, workforce, and communities.

  • Demonstrated experience working with a multicultural and underserved populations.
