We are looking for a DMTS - AI/ML Engineering in the AI Platforms and AI Governance organization.
The enterprise AI Control Plane team requires strategic lead to build and operate the foundational E2E AI Governance ecosystem. Currently, AI governance work is fragmented. This role will lead a dedicated engineering pod to own the overarching architecture that integrates AI development platforms with safety and compliance hubs. This leader will set enterprise standards, negotiate guardrails with executive risk organizations (Legal, InfoSec, RAI), and transform governance from a manual bottleneck into an automated pipeline, culminating in same-session auto-approvals for Verizon AI.

What you’ll be doing...

In this role, This leader will drive and partner the AI Governance KPIs for use cases driven by BUs. At Verizon, we are at a pivotal point to industrialize our AI capabilities platforms to next-gen standards. This person must have excellent communication and strategic thinking skills, Deep understanding of AI and GenAI concepts and Architectures along with strong technical experience.


This leader acts as the primary strategic bridge across the enterprise. They interact daily with and rely heavily upon VP and SVP-level executives across Legal, Information Security (InfoSec), and Responsible AI (RAI). They partner closely with AI Platform Engineering leaders who build the models, and they guide BU-level AI product owners to ensure compliance. They also direct a
specialized team of AI Engineers and Scientists.

  • Architect and lead the vision, strategy, and continuous development of the Enterprise E2E AI Control Plane and Reimagined Registration System. Replace manual compliance questionnaires with automated, code-driven guardrails and system telemetry ingestion.

  • Operationalize and govern the 4-Quadrant Enterprise AI Evaluation Framework (Validate, Observe, Evaluate, Optimize) for all highly autonomous agentic systems, including customer-facing voice agents.

  • Advanced evaluation metrics (e.g., piloting Tau2 benchmarking for agent simulation)

  • Lead cross-functional alignment and executive negotiation with Security, Compliance, and RAI leadership to translate strict corporate policies into automated CI/CD pipelines.

  • Foster a culture of scientific innovation, driving the creation of new intellectual property (IP), patents, and advanced evaluation metrics (e.g., piloting Tau2 benchmarking for agent simulation).

  • Exceptional strategic leadership and executive negotiation skills with Deep fluency in LLMOps, enterprise risk management

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or twelve or more years of work experience.

  • Ten or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or specialized training.

  • Strategic Architecture: Deep expertise in AI solution deployment patterns

  • Financial Operations (FinOps): Ability to manage the high costs of GPU clusters and compute credits through strategic resource allocation.

  • AI/ML governance practices scaling at enterprise grade

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Deep fluency in AI/GenAI architecture and distributed systems.
