The final base salary offer is at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.</em></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Your Role</b></H2> </div><div>Applies Engineering concepts and theories to undertake, with guidance or supervision, the development of designs, calculations and technical solutions for Babcock products and services across the Engineering Product Lifecycle</div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Description</b></H2> </div><div><p style="margin:0.0cm;text-align:left;line-height:115%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> </p> <p>In this role, you will:</p> <p> </p> <p>Report directly to the Waterfront Engineering Marine Systems – Electrical Team Lead and contribute to the successful delivery of technical deliverables<br>Draft and review deviations, waivers and repair specifications for submarine electrical equipment and maintenance activities under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer<br>Assess, document, and communicate risks associated with submarine engineering systems to both internal and external stakeholders<br>Be responsive to Project Managers for dynamic program delivery requirements in a shipyard waterfront environment<br>Gain knowledge of Defence Standards, Military Specifications and other relevant guiding principles in the design and maintenance of submarine specific systems<br>Identify risks, impacts, mitigations, and opportunities<br>Conduct other duties as necessary or as reasonably assigned from time to time</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>The ideal candidate brings:</p> <p> </p> <p>Graduated from a recognized post-secondary institution with a degree in Electrical Engineering<br>Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in British Columbia<br>Minimum 2 years previous relevant engineering or technologist experience, an asset<br>Marine, offshore oil and gas drilling or naval vessel experience, an asset<br>Experience with tasks requiring attention to detail and demonstrated pragmatic problem-solving skills<br>Strong computer skills; including MS Office suite<br>Strong verbal and written communication skills, including writing formal reports, and making presentations<br>Experience working in a shipyard and knowledge of shipyard safe work practices is an asset<br>You are eligible for a Canadian Secret Security and ITAR Clearance</p> <p>Have the physical ability to climb and descend ladders and stairs to access work areas.<br>Have the physical ability to walk and/or stand for extended periods.<br>Have the physical dexterity to allow for working in confined spaces and areas with limited room for movement.<br>Is comfortable working on scaffolding at heights and around water.<br>Is comfortable working in an industrial environment and around moving equipment (forklifts, cranes, etc.).</p> <p> </p> <p>Babcock is committed to promoting a workforce without boundaries.
