This program is building a secure, high performance, coast to coast AI compute fabric that will accelerate innovation, strengthen national technological independence, and enable the next generation of AI driven services. In this role, you will design and shape the electrical backbone of advanced data centres that support massive GPU clusters, mission critical AI workloads, and the most demanding digital infrastructure in the country. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a high impact national mission while applying deep technical expertise to systems that will define the future of Canadian AI capability.</div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Key Responsibilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Lead the design, review, and optimization of electrical systems for new data centre builds, expansions, and retrofits.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Develop single line diagrams, load calculations, power distribution layouts, and protection coordination studies.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Evaluate and plan electrical infrastructure including MV/LV switchgear, UPS systems, generators, PDUs, RPPs, grounding, and redundancy configurations (N, N+1, 2N, 2N+1).</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Collaborate with architects, mechanical engineers, facility operations teams, and external partners to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and compliance requirements.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Participate in site assessments, capacity planning, and operational audits to determine infrastructure readiness and alignment with design standards.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Provide technical guidance on procurement specifications for electrical equipment and ensure vendor solutions meet engineering requirements.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Support commissioning efforts including FAT, SAT, and integrated systems testing.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Identify electrical risks and propose design improvements to increase resiliency, efficiency, and scalability.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Maintain up to date documentation, including design packages, operational procedures, and as built drawings.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Contribute to long term infrastructure planning aligned with organizational growth and emerging compute workloads (AI/ML, HPC, GPU clusters).</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Critical Qualifications</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; P.Eng or eligibility for professional licensure preferred.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">5–10+ years of experience in electrical design for mission critical facilities (data centres, telecom, industrial power systems).</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Strong understanding of power distribution, emergency/backup systems, UPS technologies, and switchgear operation.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (CSA, OESC, IEEE, NEC/NFPA, TIA 942).</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Experience with high density and high availability environments (AI compute, GPU clusters) is an asset.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Proficiency with design and modeling tools (AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM, or similar).</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; able to collaborate across engineering, operations, and vendor teams.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Strong analytical and problem solving abilities with a focus on reliability, safety, and operational excellence.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Preferred Qualifications</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Experience supporting operational teams in troubleshooting or planning electrical maintenance activities.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Knowledge of energy optimization strategies, power usage effectiveness (PUE), and sustainability initiatives.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:12.0pt">Background in planning and supporting large scale infrastructure deployments.</li> </ul></div></div></div> Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
