This position is responsible for ensuring 100% adherence to HR legal statues through effective Compliance Vendor management and by personally conducting regular internal audits. The 'key measure of success' in this role is to meet every aspect of external Labour audit, scrutiny and inspections led by any Competent Labour Authority, especially in the area of Contract Labour Regulation ACT, ESI, PF and SandE Act, or any applicable Labour Law, for every Pan India location with a UHG business presence.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensure HR Legal compliance across India as per specific labour laws applicable, for each entity at every location
  • Fulfill every aspect of External Labour audit, scrutiny or inspections through the Compliance Vendors, on board
  • Conduct regular internal Audits
  • Responsible for Due Diligence and ongoing Legislative Monitoring to develop risk mitigation plans, wherever required.
  • Ensures appropriate documentation management as the single point of contact and a custodian of HR statutory documents, notices and opinions
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders in Compliance, Legal, Security and Facilities, to ensure consistent compliance with company policies and employment statutes
  • Provide legal policy interpretation during downsizing and ensure statutory obligations are met with respect to process transactions and statutory compliance
  • Execute any new legal entity set-up across India from a Statutory HR Compliance perspective
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so

Required Qualifications:

  • Law/ HR Graduate Degree from a reputed college with a Post Graduate, MBA/ PGDBM / PM-IR/ Law
  • 5+years of specialized HR Compliance and Statutory experience within a large MNC with multi-site presence
  • Demonstrated practical experience of handling Contract Labour, ESI, P.F & S&E regulations in Southern & Northern India
  • Exposure to Technologies like People Soft, SAP as well as strong experience and expertise in working on Excel, PowerPoint and other CRM tools to manage various data needs
  • Fully conversant and astute in interpretations of all Labour Laws, statues & the implications thereof
  • Proven track record w.r.t interacting with Labour Authorities & effectively dealing with Compliance vendors
