Hourly Rate: $50.00-$55.00 per hour.</strong></p> <p><strong>Interface Engineer – Epic Interfaces</strong></p> <p><strong>Position Summary</strong></p> <p>The Interface Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, monitoring, and support of healthcare system interfaces, with a primary focus on <strong>Epic interfaces</strong> using <strong>Epic Bridges</strong> and <strong>Infor Cloverleaf</strong>. This role partners with clinical, operational, technical, and vendor teams to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data exchange between Epic and internal/external systems.</p> <p>The ideal candidate will have strong experience with interface engine technologies, healthcare messaging standards, troubleshooting production issues, and supporting integrations across clinical and revenue cycle applications.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Design, build, test, implement, and support interfaces between <strong>Epic</strong> and third-party systems using <strong>Epic Bridges</strong> and <strong>Cloverleaf</strong>.</li> <li>Analyze business and technical requirements for new interfaces, interface changes, and system enhancements.</li> <li>Develop and maintain interface specifications, mappings, workflows, and technical documentation.</li> <li>Monitor interface processing, error queues, and message delivery to ensure timely resolution of issues.</li> <li>Troubleshoot interface failures, data discrepancies, formatting issues, and connectivity problems across integrated applications.</li> <li>Coordinate with Epic analysts, application teams, vendors, infrastructure, and operational stakeholders to support interface development and issue resolution.</li> <li>Support healthcare data exchange standards such as <strong>HL7 v2.x</strong>, <strong>FHIR</strong>, <strong>X12</strong>, <strong>XML</strong>, <strong>JSON</strong>, and web services/APIs as applicable.</li> <li>Perform unit testing, integration testing, and support end-to-end testing for interface implementations and upgrades.</li> <li>Participate in change management, release planning, and go-live support activities.</li> <li>Maintain high availability and operational stability of production interfaces through proactive monitoring and issue prevention.</li> <li>Ensure interfaces comply with organizational security, privacy, and data governance requirements.</li> <li>Participate in on-call support rotation and provide after-hours support for critical interface incidents, as needed.</li> <li>Identify opportunities for process improvement, standardization, automation, and optimization within the interface environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Healthcare Informatics, or related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.</li> <li><strong>7+ years</strong> of experience supporting healthcare interfaces in a hospital or healthcare IT environment.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with <strong>Infor Cloverleaf</strong> interface engine.</li> <li>Experience working with <strong>Epic Bridges</strong> and supporting Epic integrations.</li> <li>Strong knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards, including:</li> <ul> <li><strong>HL7 v2</strong></li> <li><strong>FHIR</strong></li> <li><strong>X12</strong> (preferred for revenue cycle-related integrations)</li> <li><strong>XML / JSON</strong></li> <li>APIs and web services</li> </ul> <li>Experience with interface troubleshooting, message parsing, transformations, routing, and error handling.</li> <li>Knowledge of TCP/IP, SFTP, HTTPS, VPN, and other transport methods used in healthcare integrations.</li> <li>Ability to read and interpret interface specifications, message structures, and technical documentation.</li> <li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.</li> <li>Experience working in a production support environment with incident and change management processes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Epic certification or proficiency in <strong>Epic Bridges</strong>.</li> <li>Experience supporting integrations with:</li> <ul> <li>Lab systems</li> <li>Radiology/PACS</li> <li>Pharmacy systems</li> <li>Revenue cycle systems</li> <li>HIE/public health interfaces</li> <li>Medical devices or ancillary clinical applications</li> </ul> <li>Experience with scripting or automation tools to support interface operations.</li> <li>Knowledge of SQL for data validation, troubleshooting, and reporting.</li> <li>Familiarity with healthcare workflows across clinical, financial, and operational domains.</li> <li>Experience in a large integrated delivery network, hospital system, or academic medical center.</li> <li>ITIL or other service management experience is a plus.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Technical Skills</strong></p> <ul> <li>Epic Bridges</li> <li>Infor Cloverleaf</li> <li>HL7 v2 messaging</li> <li>FHIR and REST APIs</li> <li>X12 transactions</li> <li>XML / JSON</li> <li>Interface monitoring and support</li> <li>Message transformation and routing</li> <li>SQL</li> <li>Web services / API integrations</li> <li>Incident, problem, and change management</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p><div class="content-conclusion"><p>Wilshire is honored that you have taken the time to review/apply to our open position.&nbsp;
