About the role


The Finance Analyst is responsible for the preparation and planning of the annual budget cycle, quarterly reforecasts, monthly management reporting, and components of half and full-year external reporting for AGL Energy and Customer Markets.
 

What you’ll be doing
 

  • Deliver accurate, insightful month-end reporting for AGL Energy and Customer Markets, including management reports for senior leadership and the Board

  • Support the coordination and delivery of AGL Energy and Customer Markets budgets, four-year plans, and quarterly forecasts

  • Drive continuous improvement by enhancing, automating, and scaling forecasting and reporting processes to strengthen financial insights

  • Support the delivery of half-year and full-year external reporting, including the Directors’ Report, Investor Pack, and supporting analysis

  • Support the preparation, analysis, and delivery of finance regulatory enquiries and data requests, ensuring accuracy and insight throughout

  • Contribute specialist expertise to key finance and business initiatives, helping drive informed decision-making

  • Build strong, trusted relationships with stakeholders by keeping their interests in mind and delivering value

  • Provide support to the broader AGL Energy finance team as needed

  • Analyse performance against market targets and strategic initiatives, providing clear insights

  • Deliver concise variance analysis to explain financial performance movements

  • Prepare accurate, timely data submissions for external regulators (e.g. ACCC, AER)


What you’ll bring to the table
 

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or economics; CA/CPA qualified

  • 4+ years’ experience in analytical roles, with strong financial analysis capability

  • Advanced Excel skills, with experience managing large, complex data sets

  • Highly organised, detail-focused, and accountable for delivering results

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders

  • Proven ability to analyse complex problems and deliver clear, actionable insights

  • Collaborative team player who builds strong relationships and values diverse perspectives

  • Highly motivated, energetic, flexible, commercially focused with can-do attitude

  • Experience with Analysis for Office and SAP S4Hana highly regarded
