Department Overview

Business Accounting and Compliance Reporting is a function within the MSI Finance Operations Center in Penang. MSI Finance Operations Centre is recognized as trusted partner to customers, suppliers and employees providing excellent service and quality support. Our department supports wide range of Motorola Solutions businesses and operations finance functions across APAC. We are responsible on all related business accounting and compliance reporting and making sure we provide great level of support to our business partners within APAC in all finance areas.


Job Description

  • Analyze and track the APAC Channel business forecasts, actuals, outlooks, and execution performance (orders, sales, backlog, margins, etc.).
  • Support APAC Channel accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, rebate accruals, POD reversals, and WOC subs billings.
  • Partner with the Regional Channel Controller and Finance Manager to manage business operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional business partners to drive operating and reporting efficiencies.
  • Ensure robust internal controls and strict adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
  • Drive regional process improvements, standardization, and finance automation across various business workflows.
  • Support management reporting, system testing, internal/external audit requests, and ad-hoc finance projects.


Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • More than 3 years of progressive experience in corporate finance or accounting roles.
  • Solid understanding of sales, order, and backlog reporting frameworks.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel; familiarity with Oracle, Alteryx and Tableau tools is a plus.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable, able to manage complex tasks under tight deadlines while navigating ambiguity.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong time management and prioritization abilities, with flexibility to work beyond regular hours when needed.
