Job Description – Financial Analyst Position: Financial Analyst – Government Policy & Financial Research Experience: 2–5 Years Location: Gurugram (On-site) Employment Type: Full-Time About the Role We are looking for a highly analytical and research-oriented Financial Analyst who can evaluate financial performance, interpret balance sheets and financial statements, and conduct in-depth analysis of government policies, regulations, economic indicators, and public-sector data. The ideal candidate will possess strong financial acumen combined with the ability to research and interpret government policies and translate complex financial and policy data into meaningful business insights. The role will involve extensive data analysis, financial modelling, industry research, and assessment of the potential financial and business impact of policy and regulatory developments. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Analysis & Financial Statement Review • Conduct detailed analysis of Balance Sheets, Profit & Loss Statements, Cash Flow Statements, and other financial reports. • Analyse key financial ratios, working capital, liquidity, leverage, profitability, and overall financial health of businesses and organisations. • Identify financial trends, variances, risks, and key performance drivers. • Evaluate financial performance across different periods and benchmark companies against industry standards. • Review and interpret annual reports, financial disclosures, management commentary, and other financial information. • Prepare financial models, analytical reports, dashboards, and presentations to support strategic decision-making. • Conduct scenario analysis and assess the potential financial implications of business and economic developments. 2. Government Policy & Economic Data Analysis • Conduct extensive research and analysis of Central and State Government policies, regulations, schemes, notifications, circulars, and economic initiatives. • Track and analyse policy developments across relevant sectors and assess their potential impact on businesses, industries, investments, and financial performance. • Analyse government and public-domain datasets, including economic, fiscal, industrial, infrastructure, employment, taxation, and sector-specific data. • Interpret Union Budget, Economic Survey, RBI data, government reports, regulatory updates, and industry statistics to derive actionable insights. • Monitor changes in taxation, subsidies, incentives, tariffs, duties, compliance requirements, and other policy measures. • Develop policy impact assessments and provide data-backed insights to senior management and stakeholders. 3. Research & Strategic Insights • Conduct industry, market, economic, and competitive research using credible primary and secondary sources. • Analyse macroeconomic indicators and their potential implications for businesses and sectors. • Identify emerging trends, risks, opportunities, and structural changes through financial and policy analysis. • Prepare detailed research reports, briefing notes, analytical papers, and management presentations. • Convert complex quantitative and qualitative information into concise, clear, and actionable insights. • Support senior leadership in strategic decision-making through rigorous financial and policy research. Desired Candidate Profile • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business, or a related discipline. • 2-5 years of experience in Financial Analysis, Investment Research, Economic Research, Consulting, Financial Advisory, Policy Research, or a related field. • Strong understanding of financial statements and balance sheet analysis. • Demonstrated ability to analyse large volumes of financial, economic, and government data. • Strong understanding of government policies, regulatory frameworks, and economic developments. • Excellent research, analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills. • Strong proficiency in MS Excel, including financial analysis and modelling; proficiency in PowerPoint and data visualisation tools will be an advantage. • High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
