Our Geospatial and Data Solutions team, have an opportunity for a Geospatial Analyst, a few years into their career to join our team. This is a Full-Time role, with a preference to be based in our Brisbane or Newcastle office.
Reporting to the Geospatial Manager, you will have the opportunity to progress in your expertise, working in a range of multidisciplinary environmental and sustainability projects. Collaborating with the Practice Leader as well as Senior and Associate consultants both locally in Brisbane as well as across Australia and New Zealand to provide a high standard of advice and support.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical advice and support on geospatial concepts and data to multidisciplinary teams to support variety of environmental projects
- Collaborate with local and regional team members to understand and deliver a high quality of work as per client requirements
- Undertake data management, conversion, manipulation and visualisation
- Use and present spatial analysis to support decision making
- Prepare high quality maps and figures for reporting purposes
- Manage and develop online content, including web maps, dashboards and mobile data collection applications
- Build strong relationships across SLR’s internal network to present as a trusted and reliable partner for all Geospatial matters
Experience
- Degree in Geographics Information Systems or a similar qualification
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Proficiency in ESRI ArcGIS Pro, QGIS and other GIS applications
- Experience with ESRI mobile applications Field Maps and Survey123
- Understanding of fundamental Geospatial concepts including coordinate systems, data formats and spatial analysis and geodatabase schemas
- Knowledge of computer aided drafting (CAD) software packages (desired not essential)
- Diverse project experience that can be applied across a range of project disciplines especially in Environmental Sciences and Ecology
- Excellent attention to detail
- High level of written and verbal communication skills
