Job Title: Global Data Lead

Reports into: Global Director – Digital & Transformation

Job Description:

At JLL, we believe that data is the driving force behind innovation and strategic decision-making. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Data Lead to guide a talented team of data professionals and turn complex data into actionable insights that shape our business.

This is a "player-coach" role for a hands-on leader who is passionate about both developing people and solving challenging technical problems. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of your data team, steering projects from conception to completion, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality analytics, models, and dashboards. You will serve as the crucial link between business stakeholders and your technical team, translating business needs into data-driven solutions.

If you thrive on mentoring others, love tackling complex data puzzles, and want to make a tangible impact on business outcomes, this is the perfect opportunity for you.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Mentorship:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a team of data analysts and/or data scientists, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous learning.

  • Manage team workload, prioritize projects, and set clear expectations to ensure timely delivery of data initiatives.

  • Conduct regular code reviews and provide constructive feedback to uphold quality standards and promote team development.

Project Execution and Delivery:

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of analytics projects, from gathering stakeholder requirements to final presentation and deployment.

  • Collaborate with product managers, business leaders, and other stakeholders to define key metrics (KPIs) and translate business questions into a technical roadmap.

  • Act as the lead individual contributor on the most complex analytical tasks, including designing data models, developing advanced SQL queries, and building sophisticated reports and dashboards.

Technical Guidance and Best Practices:

  • Champion data governance and data quality best practices within your team and the wider organization.

  • Design and implement scalable and efficient data pipelines and ETL/ELT processes in collaboration with data engineering teams.

  • Stay current with industry trends and tools, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance the team's capabilities.

Insight Generation and Communication:

  • Perform deep-dive analysis to uncover trends, opportunities, and insights that inform strategic decisions.

  • Present findings and recommendations in a clear, compelling manner to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Revised Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience: 5–7+ years of experience in data analytics, data science, data engineering, or a highly analytical business intelligence role, with at least 1–2 years of experience leading or mentoring team members.

  • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python (or R) for data manipulation and analysis. Hands-on experience with data modeling, database design, and building production-grade dashboards in Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

  • Data Architecture: Understanding of data warehousing concepts, cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure, AWS), and ETL/ELT pipeline design.

  • Collaboration & Version Control: Experience with Git/GitHub and established workflows for code management, documentation, and code reviews.

  • Communication & Change Management: Exceptional ability to translate complex data and technical processes into clear, actionable business stories for non-technical stakeholders and senior leadership.

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Information Systems, or a related quantitative field (or equivalent professional experience).
