Overview The Head of Data Solutions leads the strategy, development, and lifecycle management of data products across Gallagher. This role ensures that high quality, trusted, and scalable data assets are delivered to support the UK Business and corporate reporting and analytical needs to enable business objectives. The role blends product leadership, data strategy, and stakeholder management to turn data into measurable business value. This role will report to our UK Chief Data Officer to support our UK data strategy and align with the global Enterprise Management team to support global data strategy. The role will be based from our London City office and we offer flexible hybrid working with 2-3 days per week being office based. How you'll make an impact Data Product Strategy & Vision Define and own the UK data product strategy aligned to business growth, regulatory obligations, and digital transformation priorities. Develop a clear and defined roadmap for data products which support UK and global business operations (e.g., corporate reporting, regulatory, Gallagher Digital, Finance, Single Customer View etc.) Champion a product led approach to data, ensuring each product has defined value, users, SLAs, and measurable outcomes. Act as the senior authority on data solutions, advising senior leadership on risks, opportunities, and investments related to data. To have the ability to articulate roadmaps, functionality, and clear organisational benefits of the data product strategy implementation, as supported by data and KPIs. Product Lifecycle Ownership Establish the Data Product Lifecycle framework to ensure data products being created and / or actively used are reliable, trustworthy, and consistently deliver value, enabling better decision-making and optimised operations. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of all data products: discovery, design, build, launch, adoption, and continuous improvement; ensuring data products evolve with business priorities. Establish product standards, documentation, and governance frameworks. Ensure data products are scalable, secure, and compliant with UK regulatory requirements (FCA, PRA, GDPR). Stakeholder & Business Engagement Partner with business teams and operations to understand business needs and translate them into product requirements. Act as the voice of internal and external customers to Gallagher UK for internal data consumers. Communicate product vision, progress, and value to senior leadership. Deliver training, workshops, and communication campaigns to raise awareness of data product principles and best practices supporting the adoption and onboarding of data products. Data Quality, Governance & Compliance Ensure data products meet high standards of accuracy, lineage, timeliness, and completeness. Partners with Head of Data Governance and Quality to embed ownership, stewardship, and metadata management. As part of our metadata strategy support the development business glossaries and data dictionaries for Gallagher UK and the creation of data products. This should include the adoption of Gallagher’s data cataloguing and lineage tool. This should support the usability and reusability of data assets whilst supporting privacy, security, regulatory, legal, and audit initiatives. Execute the delivery of Master and Reference data products, working alongside Data Governance and Data Technology to establish the MDM strategy and deliver critical business products, such as Single Customer View, and reference data sets. Oversee compliance with GDPR, data ethics, and insurance specific regulatory requirements. Participate in data governance committees and provide expertise and guidance on data product initiatives. About You Proven experience leading data product teams or data strategy functions within insurance or financial services. Previous experience and understanding of insurance data domains: underwriting, pricing, claims, actuarial, risk, and customer. Demonstrated ability to build and scale data products in a complex, regulated environment. Expertise in modern data platforms, cloud technologies, and data architecture concepts. Fantastic stakeholder management and communication skills, including influencing senior leaders. Experience with agile product delivery and product management frameworks. Understanding of UK regulatory requirements (GDPR, FCA, PRA). Experienced in agile methodology (Scrum) Experience with machine learning, AI, or advanced analytics products. Background in data governance, metadata management, or data quality frameworks. Prior experience in digital transformation or modernisation programmes. Professional certifications (e.g., Agile, Product Management, DAMA, cloud certifications).
