HR Tech Analyst โ€“ Talent Management

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on HR Tech Analyst โ€“ Talent Management to support, configure, and enhance Workday Talent Management and Talent Optimization capabilities. This role is ideal for a Workday professional who understands both the technical configuration of talent processes and the business value of enabling performance, career development, internal mobility, skills-based talent strategies, and succession planning.

Role Summary

The HR Tech Analyst โ€“ Talent Management will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and continuously improving Workday Talent and Performance functionality, including employee reviews, goals, calibrations, succession planning, skills, competencies, certifications, Career Hub, mentorship, development actions, and related Talent Optimization features. The role will partner closely with HR, Talent, Learning, IT, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable Workday solutions and deliver data-driven insights through Workday reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Configure, support, and optimize Workday Talent Management business processes, templates, condition rules, notifications, security, and tenant setup.

  • Design, configure, and manage Employee Review templates, including Performance Reviews, Talent Reviews, goal-setting processes, feedback, calibration activities, and year-end performance cycles.

  • Support Workday Succession Planning configuration, including talent pools, succession plans, readiness, potential assessments, and related reporting.

  • Configure and maintain skills, competencies, certification management, talent profiles, professional profiles, and related assessment processes.

  • Enable and support modern Workday Talent Optimization capabilities such as Career Hub, Career Pathing, Flex Teams/Gigs, Mentorship, Development Actions, Skills Assessment, and internal mobility experiences.

  • Partner with HR and Talent stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze process gaps, recommend solutions, and deliver Workday configuration that supports business objectives.

  • Develop, test, deploy, and document Workday configuration changes while following established change control, governance, and release management practices.

  • Monitor Workday releases and new functionality in the Talent Management and Talent Optimization space; assess impacts and recommend opportunities for adoption.

  • Create and maintain Workday custom reports, advanced reports, matrix reports, dashboards, and calculated fields to support talent analytics and operational needs.

  • Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, support testing cycles, and provide timely resolution for Workday Talent-related incidents and enhancement requests.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams supporting Core HCM, Learning, Recruiting, Compensation, Security, Integrations, and Reporting to ensure end-to-end process alignment.

  • Prepare configuration documentation, test scripts, job aids, process guides, and knowledge articles for administrators and business users.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on Workday technical configuration experience, with strong focus on Workday Talent Management and Talent Optimization.

  • Proven experience configuring and managing Employee Review templates, including Performance Reviews, Talent Reviews, Goals-setting, Feedback, Calibration, and related business processes.

  • Hands-on experience with Workday Succession Planning, Skills, Competencies, Certification, Talent Profiles, Talent Cards, and professional profile configuration.

  • Strong understanding of Workday Business Process configuration, Workday security, security policies, condition rules, eligibility rules, notifications, questionnaires, and tenant setup.

  • Experience with Workday Reporting, including custom reports, advanced reports, dashboards, calculated fields, prompts, filters, and data validation.

  • Working knowledge of recent Workday Talent Optimization capabilities, including Career Hub, Career Pathing, Flex Teams/Gigs, Mentorship, Development Actions, Skills Assessment, and skills-based talent management.

  • Ability to convert business requirements into practical Workday configuration designs and clearly explain system options to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience supporting Workday release reviews, regression testing, UAT coordination, defect resolution, and production deployment activities.

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a global HR technology environment with complex business processes, multiple regions, and enterprise-level governance.

  • Awareness of Workday Integrations, Learning, Recruiting, Compensation, and broader HR technology ecosystem dependencies.

  • Experience supporting annual or semiannual performance cycles, talent reviews, calibration events, succession planning cycles, or skills transformation initiatives.

  • Awareness of Workday AI/Workday Assistant.

  • Workday Pro certification or equivalent Workday Talent, Performance, Reporting, or HCM training is a plus.

  • Passion for troubleshooting, exploring, and learning new HR technologies to continuously drive improvements.
