Summary of the Role
The ICT Regional Data Support specialist ensures the continuous data availability, reliability, and performance of our enterprise data platforms and pipelines. In this role, you will provide monitoring, incident management, user support, and escalation, acting as the first line of defense for data operations to ensure business continuity and timely access to critical data assets and solutions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Data Solution Development & Operations (60%)
Perform round-the-clock monitoring of data pipelines, ETL processes, and integrations.
Ensure high availability of data platforms, dashboards, and reporting systems.
Monitor data ingestion pipelines (batch & real-time), data transformation jobs, and dashboard refresh schedules.
Validate data freshness, completeness, and timeliness against SLAs.
Proactively detect anomalies such as failed jobs, delayed feeds, and data discrepancies.
2. Data Quality & Governance (20%)
Perform data validation checks focusing on completeness, accuracy, and consistency.
Identify recurring data quality issues and flag trends.
Collaborate with data owners and stewards to resolve root causes.
Support the enforcement of data quality standards and governance policies.
3. Documentation & Reporting (10%)
Maintain runbooks, SOPs, monitoring dashboards, and incident/resolution reports.
Produce daily and weekly operational reports tracking system uptime, incident statistics, and SLA compliance.
Continuously update process documentation.
4. Project Coordination & Ad-Hoc Duties (10%)
Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish timelines for job completion.
Support the roll-out of new applications, including Design, SIT, UAT, and Training.
Handle ad-hoc projects and duties as assigned by department management.
Functional & Technical Skills
Strong technical knowledge of SQL / data query troubleshooting and a solid understanding of ETL / data pipelines.
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools and ITIL-aligned incident management.
Background with BI tools and systems, specifically Power BI and the Microsoft BI Stack.
Experience in data integration, data warehousing, and big-data-related initiatives (development and implementation).
Proficient in performing advanced-level computations on datasets and application lifecycle administration.
Strong application troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Business acumen with the ability to understand how businesses function and align with current trends.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
Education & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent field.
Certifications (Preferred/Required):
ITIL Certification
Microsoft SQL Certification
Microsoft Data Platforms (Power BI and Fabric)
Microsoft O365 Platform
Experience: Proven experience supporting multiple sites, time zones, and languages.
