POSITION SUMMARY  

 

An Identity and Access Management Analyst I job description generally involves handling the security and access of sensitive information within an organization's IT systems. The position requires a detailed understanding of user authentication and authorization policies, identity governance, and access management practices. Identity Access Management Analysts play an essential role in ensuring that the right individuals have access to the right data. They may also assess and recommend improvements to existing identity management procedures and policies. Additionally, the position demands effective communication with other IT professionals and colleagues from other departments. A successful candidate may possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as a strong technical background. They must be able to work in an environment that requires excellent communication and customer service skills and be able to adapt quickly to changing requirements.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.   Other duties may be assigned.   Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

 

Ensure that only authorized individuals have access to sensitive information systems and data.

 

Conduct regular audits of user accounts and access permissions to identify and prevent security breaches.

 

Configure and maintain identity and access management (IAM) tools and systems, such as Active Directory and Single Sign-On (SSO).

 

Collaborate with other IT teams to enforce and improve identity and access policies across the organization.

 

Provide training and support to end-users on how to manage their passwords, access rights, and other security-related activities.

 

Work with third-party vendors and partners to integrate their systems with the organization's IAM infrastructure.

 

Work with audit, compliance, and legal teams to ensure that IAM policies and procedures comply with relevant regulations and standards.

 

Answer calls from IT Help Desk to assist with access related questions and requests.

 

Work in a week long on-call rotation to respond to emergency after-hour access requests from other support teams. 

 

Identify, document and develop process improvements and streamline systems access requests for the identity lifecycle including hire, transfer, and termination processes.

 

Consistent delivery of account creation, repair and rights management for multiple systems, including network, identity, file, email, and print accounts.

 

Serve as a subject matter expert for most access provisioning matters

 

Assist with the development of tools to automate the process of making access changes and reduce the potential for errors.

 

Respond to employee inquiries (phone and email), ensuring the employee technical issues are identified and resolved within expected service levels.

 

Routinely collaborates and assists with the activities of other Network Administrators/Engineers, and other IT Support Staff.  May provide consultation on complex projects.  A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

 

Internal:

 

•     Assists and mentors other IT staff members, when necessary, in order to resolve issues

 

•     Communications with departmental and business unit managers

 

External:

 

•     Develops relationships with vendors related to project goals and cost effective IT operations

 

Assist with other job related duties as assigned

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

Must be able to adapt quickly to changing requirements

 

Relevant IT work experience is required

 

Attendance and punctuality is an essential function of the job

 

 

PREFERRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

 

Knowledge Microsoft Office, Active Directory and Exchange

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

 

Constant use of computer screens 

 

Ability to operate a computer keyboard, use hand to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk, see or hear  

 

Intermittently standing, stooping, bending at the waist, walking, kneeling or crouching 

 

Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time during the workday


 Long periods of typing and repetitive motion


 Ability to lift and/or move and carry 10 pounds
