The Intermediate Business Analyst supports the delivery, oversight, and continuous improvement of critical banking operations across Retail Banking, Customer Communications, Vendor Management, Card Production, Customer Fulfillment, and Digital Messaging Services. Working closely with Senior Business Analysts, internal business partners, and external vendors, the incumbent is responsible for supporting operational excellence, issue resolution, regulatory and the successful delivery of customer-facing services.

This role supports the reliable delivery of customer communications, card services, and vendor-supported operational processes by coordinating day-to-day activities, resolving issues, supporting projects, and maintaining strong vendor relationships. The position contributes to operational stability, regulatory compliance, service excellence, and continuous improvement across Bank Operations and Vendor Engagement.

The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, operational, and relationship management skills and will be comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic business initiatives. The role may require participation in off-hours testing, production deployments, system implementations, and overnight validation activities to support critical business and technology changes.

What you'll do

  • Support the delivery of customer communications across statements, letters, email, SMS, card production, and fulfillment channels, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance.

  • Monitor daily production activities and operational processes to help meet service levels, quality standards, and business commitments.

  • Manage correspondence setup, validation, balancing, and production activities, while investigating and resolving communication or processing issues in partnership with internal teams and vendors.

  • Provide operational support for Retail and Broker Banking initiatives, including rate change management, reporting, issue investigation, and process improvements.

  • Coordinate day-to-day vendor activities, production schedules, operational changes, service requests, and issue resolution efforts with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Support vendor governance by tracking performance, monitoring service levels, managing escalations, and maintaining relationships with key service providers.

  • Participate in projects and business change initiatives involving customer communications, digital messaging, card production, operational processes, vendor services, and regulatory requirements.

  • Assist with requirements gathering, testing, implementation planning, production readiness, system enhancements, and validation of production outputs to ensure successful deployments.

  • Monitor and support critical implementations, releases, and vendor changes, including after-hours testing and issue resolution when required.

  • Review vendor invoices, support cost tracking and forecasting activities, investigate billing discrepancies, and contribute to vendor financial oversight.

  • Support compliance, audit, risk management, and governance activities by maintaining documentation, validating controls, responding to audit requests, and assisting with issue remediation.

  • Partner with Senior Business Analysts to deliver operational, analytical, project, and administrative support, while identifying opportunities for process improvement, automation, operational excellence, and cost optimization.

What You Bring

  • 3–5 years of experience in banking operations, financial services, business analysis, customer communications, card production, or related operational environments.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations Management, or a related discipline.

  • Experience supporting operational processes, business initiatives, projects, or vendor-delivered services within a regulated environment.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate issues, interpret data, identify root causes, and recommend solutions.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across business, technology, operations, compliance, and vendor teams.

  • Experience coordinating multiple priorities, managing competing deadlines, and supporting operational activities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail with strong organizational and documentation skills.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.

  • Experience supporting testing, implementation activities, process improvements, controls validation, or production support activities.

  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal business partners, vendors, and external service providers.

Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting Retail Banking, Credit Cards, Loyalty Programs, or Customer Communications.

  • Experience with customer correspondence management, digital messaging, statements, letters, email, SMS, or fulfillment operations.

  • Knowledge of card production, card fulfillment, payment processing, or customer onboarding operations.

  • Experience supporting audit, compliance, risk management, regulatory initiatives, or control validation activities.

  • Exposure to business requirements gathering, process mapping, Agile delivery practices, or project implementation methodologies.

  • Advanced Excel, data analysis, reporting, or dashboard development skills.

  • Experience leveraging AI and digital tools to improve operational efficiency, reporting, or business processes.

Broadband Salary Range: $53,000.00 and $88,000.00

Our typical hiring range is between $60,000.00 and $65,000.00 per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements. #LI-NZ2
