Position Summary

The Inventory Analytics Manager, plays a key role within Inventory Operations by turning complex data into actionable insights, reporting solutions, workflow improvements, and decision-support tools that strengthen both day-to-day support operations and longer-term priorities.

This role is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing dashboards, reporting, analytics, and automation solutions that improve visibility, data quality, efficiency, and business performance and understanding. The position supports core operational reporting while also advancing modernization efforts through tools and platforms such as SQL, Snowflake/GCP, Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Power Query, VBA, and emerging AI-enabled capabilities.

The Manager, Inventory Analytics, serves as a trusted partner across Inventory Operations and with cross-functional stakeholders by translating business questions into practical, scalable data solutions. This role identifies opportunities for process improvement, supports key operational and strategic initiatives, and delivers recommendations that help drive decisions and measurable impact.

The ideal candidate brings strong analytical and technical skills, sound business judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment. Success in this role requires strong judgment, partnership, technical capability, the ability to communicate clearly with partners at different levels of the organization, and a continuous improvement mindset.  It is a strong opportunity for an analytically minded individual contributor to make a visible impact on Inventory Operations through both execution and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Reporting and Analytics

  • Maintain and enhance core reporting and analytics that support daily, weekly, and ad hoc Inventory Operations needs
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability across reporting, dashboards, and underlying data sources
  • Conduct root cause analysis and evaluate trends to identify issues, improve workflows, and support business decisions
  • Translate findings into clear recommendations and practical solutions for business partners and leaders

Automation and Reporting Solutions

  • Identify and implement process improvements that increase efficiency, improve visibility, and reduce manual effort
  • Design and support automation and reporting solutions that strengthen operational consistency and scalability
  • Develop and maintain analytical datasets, reporting structures, and business intelligence assets that support decision-making
  • Create and maintain documentation for key reporting and automation processes

Modernization and Visualization

  • Support the transition of reporting, dashboards, and analytics to modern data platforms such as Snowflake/GCP and other cloud-based environments
  • Leverage tools including SQL, Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot, Power Query, and VBA to strengthen reporting and workflow capabilities
  • Design and enhance dashboards, scorecards, and visualizations that make insights clear, accessible, and actionable
  • Continuously improve reporting solutions based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business needs

Cross-Functional Partnership and Support

  • Partner across Inventory Operations and with cross-functional teams to support operational priorities, strategic initiatives, and reporting needs
  • Manage incoming analytical and reporting requests by identifying the underlying business need and determining the most effective solution
  • Support pilots, business cases, reporting transitions, and initiative execution through data-driven analysis and recommendations
  • Build business understanding through stakeholder engagement, field perspective, and ongoing learning about store and operational workflows

Team Capability and Continuous Improvement

  • Share best practices and provide guidance related to analytics tools, reporting design, automation, and data interpretation
  • Support training, knowledge transfer, and adoption of analytical capabilities across the team
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and operational excellence



Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience, or equivalent, in developing, optimizing, and maintaining SQL queries and analytical solutions.
  • 1+ years of experience working with Snowflake/GCP, cloud-based data environments, or modern enterprise analytics platforms
  • 1+ years of experience developing reporting automation, workflow automation, or process improvement solutions
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Access
  • Working knowledge of Tableau, Power BI, and ThoughtSpot, including the ability to create effective dashboards and data visualizations
  • Advanced proficiency with analytical and reporting tools used for data extraction, reporting, automation, and workflow improvement, including SQL, Power Query, VBA, and business intelligence platforms
  • Ability and willingness to travel periodically to stores or field locations up to 25%



Preferred Qualifications

  • Functional knowledge of Python or other analytical programming languages
  • Experience building self-service analytics, KPI reporting, or operational dashboards
  • Familiarity with AI-enabled productivity and analytics tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, or similar platforms
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to identify critical information needs, interpret complex business problems, and evaluate the impact of decisions and actions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills with the ability to work effectively across teams and with multiple levels of leadership
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to tailor technical and business information to different audiences
  • Strong organizational, project management, and time management skills

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$66,330.00 - $145,860.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
