About the job

Senversa is an Australian, employee-owned professional services firm specialising in the provision of contaminated land, sustainability, digital and engineering services. Behind our technical teams sits a modern, well-run technology environment, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Power BI, and a growing suite of AI tools, with a small IT team, and many external vendors that keep it all working.

We have an opportunity for a curious, hands-on Intern or recent Graduate to join our Digital Operations team two days a week. This is a genuine learning role: you will be supported to develop across everyday IT support, hardware, software and end-user requests, while building real skills in AI-driven software development, which is central to how Senversa works and where we are heading.

We offer flexible and hybrid work options and will encourage you to grow your career in a safe and respectful workplace. Days and times are flexible and can be arranged around your study commitments. You will be mentored by our IT Manager and work alongside our technology, data and digital teams.

Senversa is proud to be certified by Climate Active as a Carbon Neutral company, and to be a Certified B Corporation, which requires meeting rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. We are a proudly inclusive organisation and have been a recognised member of the Diversity Council of Australia since 2021.

The role will see you involved in

  • Responding to day-to-day IT support requests. Logging, triaging and resolving tickets through our service desk under guidance
  • Setting up, imaging and troubleshooting hardware including laptops, monitors, peripherals, mobile devices and meeting-room equipment
  • Supporting software requests, installs, licences, access and account setup across Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Teams and business applications
  • Assisting with onboarding and offboarding of staff, including device preparation and account provisioning
  • Helping maintain asset registers, documentation and knowledge-base articles
  • Assisting the team with AI tooling and AI-driven development tasks, building, testing and improving small internal tools and automations
  • Learning good security and compliance habits as part of everything you do

What you will bring to the team

  • Studying towards, or recently completed, a degree or diploma in IT, computer science, software engineering or a related field
  • A genuine interest in technology and a willingness to learn, we will teach you the rest
  • Proficiency with AI-driven development (a must-have): hands-on comfort with tools such as GitHub Copilot, Claude Code and Codex
  • An understanding of AI-driven development concepts such as harness design, context engineering and prompt/agent workflows
  • Basic troubleshooting ability across Windows, common hardware and everyday software
  • Clear written and verbal communication, and a friendly, patient, service-minded approach
  • Good organisation, able to manage several small tasks and follow them through to resolution
  • Availability for two days per week, with flexibility on which days and times

Nice to have

  • Exposure to scripting or version control (e.g. Git, PowerShell, Python)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft 365 administration, Intune or service-desk tools
  • Any personal projects, coursework or side projects built with AI coding assistants, we would love to see them and understand your approach.

Our commitment to you

We take pride in our vision as “the most satisfying workplace for quality environmental, geosciences and waste management professionals”, meaning you will be welcomed into a supportive organisation that embraces diversity and inclusion, encourages collaboration across teams and offices, and values input from all team members. We will provide you with the flexibility and support you need to perform at your best.

This is a learning role, you will not be expected to know everything on day one. You will be mentored, given real work, and supported to grow into a well-rounded IT professional with genuine, current AI development skills.

If you are keen to start your career in IT and want to learn how a modern, AI-forward business really works, please apply with a short covering letter outlining your interest and any relevant projects or study.
