IT Business Analyst
Overview
Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking an IT Business Analyst to support a major national laboratory.
The successful candidate shall have experience in managing general business management, basic project management.
Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders within the department to gather, document, and refine functional requirements for department workflows and processes.
- Use previous experience at other organizations to propose changes to existing processes and suggest ideas on how to simplify and automate processes.
- Work closely with IT fulfillment teams to optimize and refine workflows involving incident, change, and request within Service Now, as well as workflows that are not utilizing Service Now.
- Lead the design, build-out, and operationalization of a team SharePoint site, including structure, permissions, content strategy, and integration with other collaboration tools.
- Assess how knowledge and information are stored and utilized within the department.
- Examine documentation practices; propose and implement improvements to create a unified, organized, and accessible system for department knowledge and technical data.
- Develop and map business processes, ensuring alignment with operational goals and industry best practices.
- Support the IT Network Operations team in documenting standard operating procedures, runbooks, and process flows. Lead continuous improvement activities and problem investigations.
- Using inputs from technical experts, develop and refine troubleshooting playbooks.
- Assist in project coordination, change management, and user training related to new tools, workflows, and collaboration structures.
- Help monitor process performance and recommend enhancements based on usage data, feedback, and operational needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Business plus minimum 4 years or more years of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties of the job.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Security Clearance
- Must be US Citizen
- 4+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst, Process Analyst, or similar role
- Hands-on experience developing requirements for ServiceNow (added plus if candidate has experience building out workflows within Service Now, but programming and app development within Service Now is not required
- Experience building and administering SharePoint sites, including governance and content management
- Strong analytical and process-mapping skills; ability to translate complex needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Excellent communication and stakeholder-management abilities
- Familiarity with IT network operations, 24x7 site reliability engineering or other critical IT operations
- Foundational understanding of ITIL processes, enterprise IT environments
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and drive tasks from concept through completion.
Competitive Salary Range: $107,935-$117,935
