The Information Technology (IT) Financial Analyst will support the IT organization's financial management systems, process design and standardization, internal auditing, and is a key resource for Capital Project financial management at Hackensack Meridian Health (HMH).
Responsibilities
A day in the life of an IT Financial Analyst with Hackensack Meridian Health includes:
- Supports the IT Business Management Office in aligning financial management and reporting strategies with our strategic and operational objectives.
- Conducts detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, trend analysis, and financial modeling to provide insights into IT spending and performance.
- Drives continuous improvement in financial process maturity and data hygiene across all IT Financial and Project Management systems.
- In conjunction with IT Leaders, oversees the IT Capital Project Budget and Forecast management within our financial systems.
- Develops and maintains reports and dashboards to track key financial metrics and provide actionable insights to leadership for strategic and tactical decisions.
- Assists in the preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts, tracking project budgets and analyzing changes in expenditures.
- Evaluates the financial performance of IT projects and initiatives, assessing return on investment (ROI) and identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Collaborates with accounting to ensure proper recognition of IT-related expenses and capital assets.
- Stays current with economic conditions and industry trends that may impact the organization's IT financial strategy.
- Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Finance, or other relevant areas of study.
- Minimum of 1 or more years of experience in healthcare, finance, IT or related field.
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint or Google Suite equivalents.
- Collaborates effectively with other team members across the department as needed.
- Demonstrates ability to clearly articulate information to IT team members and customers, both verbally and in writing.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient computer skills that include but are not limited to Google Suite and/or Microsoft Office platforms.
Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred:
- General understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting principles.
- Familiarity with Technology Business Management systems such as Apptio, Anaplan, etc.
- Basic level understanding of ServiceNow.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as PeopleSoft, Workday, etc.
Licenses and Certifications Preferred:
- Project Management Professional Certification or Information Technology Infrastructure Library 4.
