Job Responsibilities

The IT Security Analyst will serve as an integral member of the IT team with responsibilities including, but not limited to, the following:

 

  • Configure, edit and create system rules in Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)
  • Interpret logs, alarms and incidents with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM).
  • Coordinate with Security Operations Center (SOC) and investigate security incidents. Direct and coordinate responses with team members and other departments.
  • Conduct and analyze security vulnerability scans of devices and applications to identify weaknesses and identify and deploy remediation processes.
  • Review, research, recommend and deploy updates and patches of operating systems and applications with patch management systems.
  • Configure rules, deploy policies and review incidents within the Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and coordinate changes with managed services providers.
  • Manage cyber security employee awareness program and training systems.
  • Configure, test, deploy and monitor usage templates for web and DNS filtering systems.
  • Design, deploy and enhance application and security posture with Multifactor Authentication (MFA).
  • Conduct security reviews of proposed upgrades and new implementations of IT systems and applications.
  • Produce security system related reports for management.
  • Comply with Seneca’s EHSQ policies, standards and procedures and demonstrates active and regular involvement in EHSQ programs.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, Engineering or related discipline.
  • 0-2 years of cybersecurity or IT experience. Internships, co-op programs, military experience, and industry certifications such as Security+ may be considered in lieu of professional experience.
  • Experience with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Firewalls or Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) is required
  • Windows server administration experience is preferred
  • Following certifications are preferred:
    • CEH - Certified Ethical Hacker
    • CompTIA Security+
    • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst CYSA+
    • Cisco CCNA or Cyber Ops Associate

 

The successful candidate must be authorized to work in United States of America.
