NN Group Finance has successfully implemented a central data platform, ALFRED, which serves as the single source of truth for all Finance and Risk data. ALFRED is a foundational element of our ambitious Finance and Risk roadmap for the coming years and plays a critical role in our transition to a digitalized Finance organization.
Moving forward, our focus will be on balancing operational readiness with the change projects outlined in our Finance Roadmap. These projects will leverage ALFRED and will require both functional and technical development.
As we navigate this shift in focus and the increased complexity from various initiatives, we are seeking a junior Data Engineer who is eager to learn, contribute to the team and grow within our ALFRED DevOps environment.
Your impact
You will contribute to the development cycle of initiatives within the ALFRED roadmap for the Risk data domain, while learning from experienced engineers and gradually taking on more responsibility.
Your role will help shape and simplify new and existing data solutions into innovative and meaningful data products that are scalable, manageable, and intuitive for both producers and consumers.
Your responsibilities
As a Data Engineer, you will work with multiple teams to deliver Azure Cloud data solutions built primarily on Azure Databricks, using SQL and Python. In addition to improving existing implementations, you should be able to analyse data and help define effective solutions for loading and structuring data in Databricks Delta Lake. This is not an infrastructure position.
Contribute to the development, operation and continuous improvement of our Azure data platform in a DevOps, CI/CD and Agile way of working
Support the implementation of data solutions in Azure, mainly using Azure Databricks and Delta Lake, with additional use of Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Data Factory and Azure FunctionsDrive devops & automation on CI/CD, Azure DevOps and scripting in PowerShell and Python
Continuously strive to ensure architectural consistency, security compliance and you apply standard blueprints, industry best practices and Azure native solutions and services
Continuously improve and automate the data platform by engaging in discussions with the engineering community and architects
Actively seek collaboration with both platform end users andĀ stakeholders
Ability to provide solutions that are forward-thinking in data and analytics
Deliver a quality product and ensure unit testingĀ
Coding complex U/T-SQL, Spark (Scala or Python).
Who you are
You have a basic foundation in Azure Data Engineering and, most importantly, the curiosity and motivation to keep learning, developing your skills and improving every day. You have a basic to good understanding of SQL and Python, and you are motivated to further develop these skills in practice. You are a real team player with a hands-on attitude and flexibility to deal with changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
You want to fully understand the Cloud and Data concepts, to create an innovative solution that is future-proof. You are interested in cloud and data concepts and want to learn how to build secure, reliable and future-proof data solutions. Strong English communication skills with ability to grasp the big picture
You have acquired relevant azure data certifications, DP-203 is desirable. Optional.
Passion for automating recurring tasks such as testing and security in CI/CD pipelinesĀ
Strong plus:
Experience and knowledge of Solvency II and/or IFRS
Experience in Finance Banking or Risk management Insurance.
Experience in working with complex systems applications chain (building models to support the entire application chain)
