Junior FP&A & Data Analyst

ConeTec is seeking an analytical, curious, and technology-driven Junior FP&A & Data Analyst to join our growing Finance team. This role is ideal for an early-career professional passionate about finance, data, and emerging technologies. You'll work across financial planning, business analytics, reporting automation, Power BI, and AI-enabled finance processes, turning financial and operational data into actionable insights that support business decisions. You'll also gain exposure to senior leadership, global operations, and cross-functional projects while building a strong foundation for a career in FP&A, Finance, and Business Analytics.
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Financial Planning & Business Performance
- Support the annual budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-range planning processes.
- Assist in analyzing financial results and business performance across multiple entities and business units.
- Prepare variance analysis comparing actual results to budget, forecast, and prior year performance.
- Monitor key business drivers, operational metrics, and financial KPIs.
- Support cash flow forecasting, profitability analysis, and working capital reviews.
- Analyze financial results and business performance across multiple entities and business units, with guidance from the FP&A team.
Data Analytics & Business Intelligence
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and performance reporting tools.
- Transform large volumes of financial and operational data into meaningful business insights.
- Identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers through data analysis.
- Support the development of automated reporting solutions that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.
- Work with finance and operational teams to improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility.
AI & Finance Transformation
- Explore and implement practical uses of Artificial Intelligence within Finance and FP&A processes.
- Leverage Microsoft Copilot, Power BI AI capabilities, and other digital tools to improve productivity and decision-making.
- Assist in developing automated analysis, reporting, forecasting, and financial insight generation.
- Contribute to finance transformation initiatives focused on automation, standardization, and continuous improvement.
- Stay informed on emerging technologies and proactively identify opportunities to enhance finance processes.
Reporting, Insights & Decision Support
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting packages.
- Support executive presentations and business review materials.
- Deliver concise analyses and recommendations to support management decision-making.
- Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to understand business challenges and support strategic initiatives.
- Assist with ad hoc analysis and special projects across the organization.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Statistics or related field.
- Working toward a CPA, CFA, or other relevant professional designation is considered an asset.
Experience Requirements
- 1-3 years of experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, business analytics, data analysis, or a related field.
- Experience working with financial data and reporting is preferred.
- Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, business analysis, or performance management is considered an asset.
- Experience using Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics platforms is beneficial.
- Demonstrated interest in AI, automation, or data-driven decision-making is highly desirable.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced Excel skills with strong analytical and quantitative abilities.
- Understanding of financial statements and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Query, and Power Automate is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) is an asset.
- Preferred Experience using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) is an asset.
