The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:
$102,425 - $120,500

Job Summary
This position supports the development, analysis, maintenance, evaluation, measurement and verification of Distributed Energy Resources (DER) which are part of the Non Wires Alternatives (NWA) and Non Transmission Alternatives (NTA) programs in New York and in Maine. This position will work in both New York and Maine to support the success of existing and future utility programs and their resulting benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Resource and Program Coordination
- Ongoing oversight of NTA resources, including managing quarterly internal performance review meetings, management of resource payments, contributions to regulatory responses, and primary contact with NTA Coordinator and resources.
- Resource analysis supporting future NTA projects.
- Perform Benefit Cost Analysis (BCA) for potential NWA and NTA projects in New York and in Maine as required.
- Participate in development of New York BCA Handbook and incorporation of BCA and other screening methodologies into distribution system planning analyses.
- Provide other analytical and business case support to NWA and Distribution Planning group to facilitate incorporation of DER projects within Integrated System Planning (ISP) model.
- Provide ongoing support to NWA and ISP groups through:
- Supporting NWA procurement activities
- Supporting NWA Evaluation, Measurement and Verification (EM&V) requirements
- May liaise with state and federal regulatory agencies on NWA and DER related matters.
- May produce briefings and status reports on a regular basis for local and global Iberdrola executives and, as necessary, for regulatory agencies and other key stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Education & Experience Required:
- Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience preferred.
- Associates Degree with a minimum of 5 years relevant experience required.
- Experience supporting the implementation of complex initiatives.
- Strong analytical focus with specific experience in benefit cost modeling.
- Demonstrated understanding of Distributed Energy Resource planning, performance measurement and verification, and system impact.
- Demonstrated understanding of utility operations and positive customer interactions.
- Ability to work within a matrix environment, including geographically dispersed teams.
- Skills/Abilities:
- Highly developed quantitative skills as demonstrated with complex modeling; preference given to previous benefit/cost modeling experience.
- Experienced in the electric utility industry and knowledge of business operations.
- Understanding of Distributed Energy Resource planning, performance measurement and verification, and system impact.
- Must be an effective and positive communicator.
- Demonstrated understanding of current distribution and/or transmission planning requirements, electrical engineering and Energy Control Center (ECC) operations, including ability to work across these functional areas preferred.
- Strong and demonstrated understanding of power systems analysis preferred.
