Responsibilities About the Opportunity This is an outstanding opportunity to be at the forefront of technological innovation with Principal. As a Lead Data Engineer, you will use your AWS Cloud skills and Python development expertise to build and implement scalable, secure, and business-aligned systems. You will mentor and lead engineering teams, ensuring detailed execution of projects and encouraging a culture of excellence. What You’ll Do Compose, build, and implement high-performance AWS data pipelines, serving as the technical go-to person. Apply software engineering guidelines, frameworks, and standards to ensure overall quality and maintainable solutions. Lead the team on process enhancements, continuous improvement, and system health improvement initiatives. Possess deep understanding of supported applications and underlying domains to drive effective technical solutions. Own and maintain technical and process documentation, ensuring effective knowledge transfer and sustained operational excellence. Partner with multi-functional teams to lead environment management efforts, perform root-cause analysis, and ensure effective production support and issue resolution. Implement AWS security guidelines, performance tuning, and cost optimization strategies. Foster a strong engineering culture emphasizing quality, ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Qualifications Who You Are Bachelor's degree - Engineering (preference in a computer science, technology, engineering or math-related field) and 07+ years work experience or equivalent experience Proficiency in Python (Automation, Lambdas, scripts, tooling), SQL, and working with relational databases. Shown experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets. Experience working with CI/CD pipelines in GitHub and Jenkins. Extensive knowledge of AWS services including S3, Glue, Lambda, SNS, EC2, IAM, and KMS. Skilled in CI/CD pipelines within GitHub, and familiar with Snowflake capabilities such as streams, tasks, stored procedures, Snowpipe, and data sharing. Excellent communication and cooperative abilities.Abilities: Skills That Will Help You Stand Out Asset Management domain experience OR Financial Services industry experience 6+ years working with Agile teams in a software engineering environment Additional Information Why Choose Principal?
