Experience Level: Mid-Level (8–12+ Years) – Experienced Lead with a proven track record of owning and driving the end-to-end Data & Reporting function for client-facing enterprise applications. Role Overview: We are looking for an experienced Lead – Data & Reporting with 8–12+ years of experience to own and drive the Data & Reporting function for a client-facing enterprise application. The role requires someone who can lead a team, build confidence with stakeholders, ensure high-quality reporting, and establish strong governance around reporting deliverables. The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable working with SQL and reporting technologies while managing client communication, cross-functional collaboration, planning, estimation, and end-to-end delivery ownership. What is expected out of you? As a part of this job Leadership & Functional Expectations Own the complete Reporting function Lead the Data & Reporting team with end-to-end ownership. Review technical solutions before delivery. Guide team members and establish coding and reporting standards. Prioritize work based on business impact. Understand Business Data Develop a strong understanding of business workflows and data across multiple modules. Understand how data flows between different systems. Identify downstream reporting impacts whenever application changes occur. Cross-functional Collaboration Work closely with Engineering Leads, QA, Product and Business teams. Stay aligned with ongoing development and production changes. Proactively identify reporting impacts instead of waiting for issues to be reported. Drive discussions across teams whenever dependencies exist. Client & Stakeholder Management Independently interact with Client Account Managers and business stakeholders. Gather reporting requirements with clarity. Challenge ambiguous requirements where necessary. Provide timely updates, communicate risks and manage stakeholder expectations. Build confidence through proactive communication rather than reactive responses. Delivery Ownership Analyze incoming requests. Perform effort estimation. Plan deliveries based on priorities. Negotiate timelines when required. Ensure commitments are realistic and consistently met. Quality & Governance Ensure reports undergo thorough validation before delivery. Perform peer reviews of SQL queries and reporting logic. Establish review mechanisms to reduce production defects. Drive continuous improvement in reporting quality and delivery processes. Own RCA and preventive actions for reporting issues. Team Management Mentor and develop reporting engineers. Allocate work effectively. Track team productivity and delivery. Identify skill gaps and coach the team. Foster accountability and ownership within the team. Requirements Requirement: 8–12+ years of experience in Data & Reporting. Prior experience leading a reporting or BI team. Experience working directly with enterprise clients. Strong hands-on expertise in SQL with ability to write, optimize and review complex queries. Experience with SSRS report development and maintenance. Experience in Power BI dashboards and reporting. Good understanding of Azure Functions and Azure Data Factory (ADF). Strong understanding of relational databases, data models and reporting architecture. Ability to troubleshoot data discrepancies and perform root cause analysis. Experience working with large transactional datasets. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Experience in Agile delivery environments.
