The team

The Asset Servicing Finance team (‘the team’) provide management reporting, financial analysis and decision-making support to senior business stakeholders across Northern Trust’s Asset Servicing Business Unit.  The team play a key role as partner, adviser and consultant to business stakeholders and support them in achieving their business, financial and strategic growth objectives.  The team operate a ‘hub and spoke’ model where business reporting is produced by a central reporting team based in Limerick and Manila (‘the hub’) with finance partners in each business location globally providing direct support to business management in their location (‘the spoke’).

The role

Team Coordination & Governance:

  • Support the development and operation of a high-performing reporting team in Manila, contributing to a collaborative and efficient team environment.

  • Support local hiring and onboarding of new team members, ensuring effective integration and knowledge transfer.

  • Work closely with the direct manager to facilitate targeted 1:1’s with partners, focusing on performance oversight and behavioural feedback.

  • Organise and facilitate monthly team meetings covering key updates, issues, risks, and leadership communications, ensuring actions are tracked and followed through.

  • Initiate and support regular review and maintenance of Service Documents (SDs), coordinating with indirect teams and their managers to ensure alignment on scope, roles, and delivery expectations.

  • Support stakeholder engagement through participation in quarterly service review calls, contributing to discussions on performance, issues, and continuous improvement opportunities.

  • Coordinate and support Business Continuity Planning (BCP) activities, ensuring documentation is maintained, tested, and aligned to governance requirements.

  • Ensure adherence to risk, controls, and compliance requirements, providing timely updates and escalating issues to management where required.

Operational:

  • Assist to lead the production and review of financials, forecasts and related reporting for Asset Servicing globally including its business segments, ensuring that all reporting is produced in line with defined standards, in a consistent manner and on a timely basis.

  • Support and coordinate monthly reporting activities across Hub and Spoke teams, ensuring responsibilities, hand-offs, and dependencies are clearly defined and effectively managed.

  • Ensure all queries from business management and finance stakeholders are responded to and resolved in a timely manner.

  • Play a key role in the ongoing assessment and enhancement of financial reporting, analysis, and metrics to ensure outputs remain relevant and aligned to evolving business requirements.

  • Drive and support the identification, testing and implementation of new tools, technologies, and automation initiatives, including assessing impacts on existing processes and supporting transition to improved ways of working.

The successful candidate will demonstrate some of the following skills:

  • Experience in leading and coordinating work across teams, including providing guidance, oversight, and informal mentorship to colleagues and indirect team members.

  • Strong financial acumen and analytical skills with high level of attention to detail.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills.

  • Confident verbal and written presentation and communication skills.

  • Motivated, proactive and resilient self-starter who takes the initiative and drives tangible and credible outcomes.

  • Positive and solutions orientated individual with an adaptable and hands-on approach that can work independently or as part of a team.

  • Ability to deliver accurate and sound financial analysis under tight deadlines.

  • Ability to navigate and operate effectively across a complex global organisation.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will benefit from having:

  • Qualified accountant (preferable ACA / ACCA) with experience in a multi-currency multinational environment (financial services experience preferable).

  • Strong IT skills, notably Office 365 products including Power BI, Power Applications, SharePoint
