The wider Analytics & Data Science team is growing to support more areas of the business. As part of this, we’re creating new analyst roles focused on Logistics.
In this role, you’ll work closely with stakeholders to understand real business challenges, translate them into analytical problems, and deliver insight that drives measurable impact—whether that’s improving availability, optimising stock flow, or enhancing operational efficiency.
You’ll be part of a collaborative, forward-thinking analytics community that values curiosity, creativity, and continuous improvement. We encourage new ideas, experimentation, and smart risk-taking to evolve how we use data to support better decisions across our operations.
What's the job?
- Use data from logistics network (HD and retail) and from outside the network to uncover insights that drive better business decisions and help solve logistics strategy problems
- Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling stories and actionable recommendations for operational stakeholders
- Engage with the logistics operation to ensure a grounded knowledge and to make sure analysis and the operation are in alignment
- Tackle a wide range of problems, from performance optimisation to understanding availability drivers
- Deliver deep-dive analysis, highlighting risks, opportunities and areas for continuous improvement
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, influencing and supporting decision-making at all levels
- Work collaboratively with analysts and data scientists to deliver scalable and impactful analytical solutions
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, innovation and data-driven thinking across supply chain and logistics
- Keeping up to date with best practice in the logistics sector, understanding emerging technology and having a view about how it could be applied in the B&Q network to improve efficiency, capacity or service
What we need:
- Experience working with Supply Chain and/or Logistics in an analytical role
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience working with complex datasets
- Proficiency in SQL, with experience in Python and/or R (desirable)
- Experience working in cloud-based data environments (e.g. Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery)
- Proven ability to translate data into clear insights and compelling, actionable recommendations
- Creating and delivering presentations communicating the problem, context, potential and recommended solutions
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships across operational and commercial teams
- Curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to challenge the status quo to improve ways of working
- A proactive mindset — comfortable taking ownership, testing ideas, and driving improvements
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to data quality and integrity
- Confident decision maker
