Johnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. In that case, details of any planned changes would be provided to you by DePuy Synthes at an appropriate time and subject to any necessary consultation processes.DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Manager, Jabil (Supply Chain & Ops, Procurement), located in Zuchwil Switzerland.
This role leads procurement and supply chain operations in partnership with Jabil, ensuring reliable supply, cost competitiveness, and operational excellence for DePuy Synthes manufacturing activities. The Manager serves as a key interface between internal stakeholders and external manufacturing partners, driving supplier performance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. This is a highly visible role with direct impact on product availability, quality, and business continuity.
Key Responsibilities
Lead procurement and supply chain operations for externally manufactured products, with primary focus on the Jabil partnership, ensuring alignment with DePuy Synthes business priorities.
Develop and execute sourcing and supplier management strategies that optimize cost, quality, service, and risk across assigned categories and operations.
Own supplier performance management, including delivery, capacity, quality, and compliance metrics; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Operations, Quality, Planning, Finance, and Engineering to support production continuity and new product introductions.
Lead contract negotiations, commercial terms, and change management activities with external manufacturing partners in accordance with company policies.
Identify and mitigate supply risks through scenario planning, dual sourcing strategies, and proactive issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with DePuy Synthes standards, regulatory requirements, and ethical sourcing principles.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to cost productivity, lead time reduction, and supply chain resilience.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree required in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Operations, or a related field
Master’s degree or MBA preferred
Experience and Skills
Required:
6–10 years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations, including exposure to external or contract manufacturing environments
Demonstrated experience managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements
Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain planning, and operational performance management
Proven ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives and influence stakeholders in a matrixed organization
Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
Preferred:
Experience supporting or managing partnerships with global contract manufacturers (e.g., EMS or OEM partners such as Jabil)
Experience in regulated industries such as medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments
Familiarity with supplier risk management, cost productivity programs, and continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma)
Experience working in a global organization with complex supply networks
Other:
Languages: Fluency in English required; German preferred
Travel: Up to approximately 20% international travel
Certifications: Supply Chain or Procurement certifications (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, APICS) preferred
