Visa Consulting and Analytics (VCA) is the consulting arm of Visa, and drives tangible, impactful results for clients. Drawing on our expertise in consulting, data analytics, technology, payments and economics, VCA solves the most strategic problems for our clients.  VCA's core client segments include issuers, acquirers, merchants, fintechs, payment enablers and governments. 

Overview:

Visa Consulting & Analytics (VCA) team is seeking an individual to join our consulting practice and play a key role in leading high-impact projects in the Central American and Caribbean region. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and implementing projects and solutions in collaboration with Merchant Sales and Acquirers, with the aim of expanding Visa's acceptance footprint within the CARCAM region. This individual will develop initiatives to boost client business in their current market, as well as identify strategic opportunities based on Visa's Best Practices. The role involves coordinating the execution of consulting projects in the CARCAM region in collaboration with the Merchant Sales and Acquiring teams.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Issuing, Commercial Solutions as well as Goverment Solutions related to consulting projects for accounts in the CARCAM markets and for Regional Multinational Clients.
  • Drive and execute the VCA strategy across Central America & the Caribbean, proactively capitalizing on regional opportunities.
  • Ensure coordination with internal teams for the execution of specific acceptance activities that stem from the recommendations of the consulting engagement by Visa Consulting & Analytics.
  • Lead consulting initiatives and contribute to closing engagements by identifying potential opportunities with clients.
  • Cultivate and manage a pipeline of work with clients, from identifying potential opportunities to scoping the associated engagement.
  • Deploy frameworks, approaches, solutions, and recommendations that effectively and efficiently address the most impactful opportunities and challenges.
  • Become a trusted partner to the account executives' leaders and a key contributor in nurturing and strengthening client relationships.
  • Partner with peers in other functional areas (e.g., marketing, sales, risk, innovation) and across global regional teams to execute projects in ways that leverage the breadth and depth of Visa’s resources.
  • Produce insights and analyses to improve client performance, drive understanding of client issues, and provide strategic guidance for client priorities across the payment P&L.
  • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical management skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate their assumptions into successful execution plans.
  • Build new solutions, toolkits, best practice documents, and consulting approaches that can be applied across the VCA practice.

Incumbents applying for the role should be motivated, analytic individuals who will deliver strategic thought leadership, problem diagnostics and high impact solutions to support the client’s growth and performance. Candidates must be able to develop enduring, strategic relationships with clients and across the Visa organization.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Ideally in quantitative field (e.g. engineering, economics, computer science, business administration, finance…).
  • 5+ years’ experience working in the payments industry, preferably managing cards portfolios or relevant experience at payments management in consulting firms
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy / management consulting; with proven project deliveries and expertise in consulting methodologies 
  • Project and sales management skills are a key requirement given that this role involves managing multiple projects with multiple stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Executive presence including excellent communication and presentations skills, written and verbal, and ability to communicate at all levels within large organizations
  • Excellent client relationship management skills (on senior executive level and across all levels of an organization) and ability to develop a credible point of view on a variety of industry topics, acting as a trusted advisor and show thought leadership
  • Demonstrated leadership, managerial and collaboration capabilities, particularly with those who are not direct reports as may be found in a matrixed organization
  • Knowledge of payment schemes, including products, processes, acquirer lifecycle management
  • Passionate, self-motivated, results oriented individual with the ability to handle numerous projects concurrently.
  • Fluent English and Spanish
