Mechanical Lead (ST Telemedia Global Data Centres (STT GDC) Philippines)

Job Description
Serves as the technical authority for all mechanical, cooling, plumbing, and fire-protection systems across STT GDC Philippines sites — governing design, operations, and lifecycle asset management to ensure thermal reliability, water system integrity, and safety compliance.To serve as the technical authority for all mechanical, cooling, plumbing, and fi re-protection systems. This role operates by governing system design, operations, and lifecycle asset management, with the permanent objective of ensuring optimal thermal management, water system reliability, safety, and effi ciency in compliance with the Philippine Mechanical Code and STT GDC Global Standards.
Statutory Compliance & Authority
- Serve as Engineer of Record (PME) for mechanical, plumbing, and fire-protection systems in order to ensure 100% compliance with the Philippine Mechanical Code (PMC) and authority requirements.
- 100% compliance with PMC and authority requirements.
Design & Technical Governance
- Lead mechanical and plumbing design reviews for new builds, retrofits, and AI-ready upgrades in order to validate design integrity and prevent critical deviations.
- No critical deviations during design and commissioning.
Documentation & Procedural Control
- Approve and stamp mechanical and plumbing drawings, technical documents, and as-builts in order to maintain accurate records and formalize submissions.
- On-time submission and turnover of approved documents.
Commissioning & Handover
- Oversee commissioning of chillers, pumps, CRAHs, DLC loops, and support systems in order to ensure a safe and successful system handover.
- Successful system handover with zero safety or quality non-compliance.
Performance & Efficiency Management
- Drive mechanical reliability audits, system performance tests, and energy optimization initiatives in order to achieve mechanical uptime and efficiency KPIs.
- Achievement of mechanical uptime and efficiency KPIs.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs for mechanical assets in order to ensure
- system reliability and prevent unplanned cooling downtime.
- PM compliance rate $\ge$ 95%; zero unplanned cooling downtime.
Ancillary Systems Management
- Manage plumbing, fire-protection, and water treatment systems across sites in order to ensure 100% system availability and statutory compliance.
- 100% system availability and statutory compliance.
Team Leadership & Development
- Provide technical mentorship and training to site mechanical teams in orderT to build and maintain technical capability.
- Capability matrix maintained; annual skill targets met.
Professional Background and Experience
10–15 years of experience in mechanical systems design, construction, and operations within mission-critical, industrial, or large commercial
facilities
Proven expertise in chilled water systems, HVAC design and control, plumbing, and fire-protection networks.
Experience in high-density and AI-ready thermal design, including liquid cooling and heat recovery systems.
Strong track record in reliability-centered maintenance, system optimization, and mechanical plant lifecycle management.
Exposure to commissioning processes (FAT, SAT, IST) and vendor management.
Professional Qualifications & Training
Licensed Professional Mechanical Engineer (PME) – required.
Certification in Data Center Design or Operation (CDCP/CDCS/DCPro or equivalent) preferred. Knowledge with ASHRAE TC9.9, NFPA, SMACNA, Occupational Safety and Health Center (OSHC) standards, National Building Code of the
Philippines, Fire Code of the Philippines, Philippine Green Building Code and Mechanical Code of Philippines.
