Medical Laboratory Technician

<p style="line-height:15.0pt;"><b><u><strong>What you will be doing:</strong></u></b></p><div><br></div><ul><li>Receive, verify, and prepare clinical specimens (e.g., urine, stool, swabs, sputum, blood cultures).</li><li>Conduct culture inoculation, sub-culturing, and incubation following established protocols.</li><li>Perform Gram stains, microscopy, and preliminary organism evaluation.</li><li>Identify microorganisms using biochemical tests, automated analyzers, and manual methods.</li><li>Carry out antimicrobial susceptibility testing.</li><li>Enter test results accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).</li><li>Ensure timely communication of critical or abnormal results to clinicians.</li><li>Maintain detailed records as required</li><li>Use appropriate PPE and handle infectious samples safely.</li><li>Ensure proper disposal of biohazard, chemical waste, and sharps.</li><li>Maintain cleanliness and organization of the microbiology workstation</li></ul><div><strong><u><br></u></strong></div><p style="text-align:justify;"><b><strong><u>What are we looking for?</u></strong></b></p><div><br></div><ul><li>A bachelor’s degree in biomedical, biology, Chemistry, biotechnology, life sciences or any related field</li><li>Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a similar field.</li><li>Good knowledge of laboratory practices (testing, analysis, safety, efficient reporting, compliance, troubleshooting)</li><li>Working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and database systems</li><li>Ability to work autonomously and under pressure</li><li>Good planning and organization skills</li><li>Good writing and oral communication skills</li><li>Good Analytical skills</li></ul><div><br></div>
