Position SummaryPerforms moderately complex general laboratory testing in the area(s) of licensure under the direction of a Medical Technologist.

Responsibilities
Essential Functionsā¢ Performs and reports routine laboratory testing following established policies and procedures to ensure the highest quality oflaboratory results within established timeframes.ā¢ Verifies results and quality control data for accuracy and reliability.ā¢ Performs, evaluates, and documents all quality control, preventive maintenance and troubleshooting procedures.ā¢ Demonstrates computer system proficiency including ordering, resulting, and inquiry functions.ā¢ Ensures proper utilization and preparation of reagents and supplies.ā¢ Communicates critical results to the patient caregiver.ā¢ Regularly reports all unusual findings to the immediate supervisor.ā¢ Regularly reports work activities and pending work to the oncoming technologist.ā¢ Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, stateand local standards.ā¢ Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education/TrainingGraduate from an approved school of medical laboratory technician. Associate degree in related field.
Licensure/CertificationCurrent Alabama license as a Clinical Laboratory Technician by Alabama Department of Health. Certified in area(s) of laboratory where assigned.
