Position Overview: The Mid-Level Analyst / Action Officer supports the HQMC I&L LP Futures (LPOV) Expeditionary Logistics (EXLOG) Support contract (26F1009) by providing analytical support, staff coordination, and action officer functions to facilitate the implementation of logistics initiatives aligned with Marine Corps future operations. This role supports senior subject matter experts and the Program Manager in delivering high-quality analytical products, coordinating across HQMC and external stakeholders, and ensuring program tasks are executed effectively and on schedule.

Job Type: Full-Time | Location: Arlington, VA - The Pentagon | Anticipated Start Date: Upon Contract Award

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an action officer providing staff coordination, tasker management, and administrative support to senior logistics SMEs and the Program Manager
  • Research, compile, and analyze logistics data, policy documents, and operational reports to support development of strategic planning products and assessments
  • Draft, review, and finalize briefings, information papers, staff studies, trip reports, and correspondence for senior military and civilian leadership
  • Track and manage program tasks, suspenses, deliverables, and action items using SharePoint, MS Teams, and other collaboration tools
  • Coordinate meeting logistics, agendas, read-aheads, and minutes for working groups, conferences, and leadership engagements
  • Support wargames, tabletop exercises, and strategic planning events by preparing materials, capturing outcomes, and drafting after-action reports
  • Assist in development and maintenance of program artifacts including POA&Ms, risk logs, and status reports
  • Liaise with HQMC staff sections, FMF commands, and external DoD agencies to facilitate information sharing and stakeholder coordination
  • Support logistics concept development efforts by conducting background research, literature reviews, and doctrinal analysis
  • Assist the Program Manager in preparing program management review materials, status reports, and performance metrics

Requirements

  

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (logistics, business, military science, political science, or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in a DoD, military, or government contracting environment performing analytical or action officer functions.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing staff documents, briefings, and written products for senior military or government civilian leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced headquarters environment.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (TS/SCI preferred).
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, MS Teams).
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Skills/Experience:

  • Active Secret or Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Prior military service (USMC, Navy, or joint experience preferred).
  • Experience supporting a Marine Corps or joint headquarters staff in an action officer or analytical role.
  • Familiarity with Marine Corps logistics doctrine, expeditionary operations, or force design concepts.
  • Experience with ETMS2, DocuSign, or other DoD document management systems.
  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification.
