If you are a driven and innovative individual with a passion for consumer brands, we invite you to apply for our open position and become a part of our dynamic and growing team.
About the Role:
Tradewind Services provides shared services across Archipelago Companies' portfolio of brands (OluKai, Melin, Roark) and international subsidiaries (Arch-UK, Arch-EU). We're hiring a Lead Data Engineer to own our data infrastructure end to end: building the pipelines that bring data in from across the business, running our Snowflake environment, and becoming the go-to expert on how our data fits together.
This is a senior, high-ownership role. You'll be the person who can stand up a data warehouse from scratch and the person other teams come to when they need to know where a number comes from.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that bring data into Snowflake from across the business: Shopify, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Google BigQuery, ERP flat-file exports, transactional databases, and internal documents (Google Docs, Excel)
- Own and administer the Snowflake environment: architecture, performance tuning, cost and credit management, security, and access controls. Code lives in GitHub, version-controlled and structured for easy AI-assisted development and iteration
- Stand up new Snowflake instances and environments as the organization's data needs grow
- Build and maintain data models that support reporting and analysis across brands (OluKai, Melin, Roark) and subsidiaries
- Establish data quality, testing, and monitoring practices so pipeline failures and data issues get caught before stakeholders find them
- Partner with teams across marketing, ecom, wholesale, and finance to understand data needs and translate them into reliable pipelines and models
- Own data governance: naming conventions, access control, and documentation of sources and transformations
- Serve as the organization's subject-matter expert on data architecture and lineage
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5+ years of senior level data engineering experience, with a track record of owning a data platform end to end
- Deep, hands-on Snowflake experience: warehouse architecture, performance and cost optimization, RBAC, Snowpipe, Streams/Tasks
- Proven experience building ETL/ELT pipelines from a range of source types: ad platforms (e.g., Google Ads), analytics/tracking tools (e.g., Google Analytics), ERPs, relational databases, and spreadsheet-based sources (e.g., Google Sheets)
- Strong SQL and hands-on experience building ETL/ELT pipelines from scratch
- Python for scripting, pipeline orchestration, and custom integrations
- Experience designing data warehouse models (e.g., dimensional/star schema) for reporting and analytics use cases
- Strong communication skills; comfortable being the source of truth other teams rely on
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Domo or a similar BI/reporting platform
- Experience with retail or consumer products data (wholesale, DTC/ecom, inventory)
- Experience with orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, dbt Cloud, Prefect)
- Experience consolidating data across multiple brands, business units, or entities
Location & Office Structure: This is an in-office hybrid position, mandatory 4 days per week in office in Irvine, CA with the option to work from home 1 day per week. On call as needed and subject to change without notice as per company guidelines.
Compensation: The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $198,000 plus opportunity for annual bonus; salary is based on the experience that you bring to the position.
