Job Description

Job Title: Oracle PPM Functional Consultant

Job Summary

The Oracle PPM Functional Consultant is responsible for the implementation, configuration, and support of Oracle Fusion Project Portfolio Management (PPM) modules. The role works closely with project managers, finance teams, and business stakeholders to ensure accurate project costing, billing, revenue recognition, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

PPM Functional Implementation

  • Lead and support implementations of Oracle Fusion PPM modules including:
    • Project Costing
    • Project Billing
    • Project Management
    • Project Contracts
    • Project Resource Management
  • Configure project structures, tasks, expenditure types, and cost rates.
  • Define project classifications, statuses, and controls.

Business Requirements & Design

  • Gather and analyze business requirements related to project accounting and project execution.
  • Prepare functional design documents (FDD), setup documents, and process flows.
  • Map business processes to Oracle PPM best practices.
  • Provide solution recommendations aligned with financial and project governance standards.

Integration & Financial Alignment

  • Work closely with Finance teams to integrate PPM with:
    • General Ledger (GL)
    • Accounts Payable (AP)
    • Accounts Receivable (AR)
    • Fixed Assets (FA)
  • Support integrations with third-party project management, time tracking, and expense systems.
  • Ensure accurate flow of project costs, revenue, and billing information.

Testing & Deployment

  • Prepare test scenarios and support SIT and UAT.
  • Validate project costing, billing events, and revenue recognition.
  • Support cutover activities and production deployments.

Post-Go-Live Support

  • Provide production support and resolve functional issues.
  • Support month-end and project close processes.
  • Manage change requests and continuous improvements.

Documentation & Training

  • Create user guides, training materials, and knowledge transfer documents.
  • Train end users, project managers, and finance teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Oracle PPM Expertise

  • Strong hands-on experience with Oracle Fusion PPM modules.
  • In-depth knowledge of:
    • Project Costing
    • Project Billing
    • Revenue Recognition
    • Project Financial Management
  • Understanding of contract types (T&M, Fixed Price, Cost Plus).

Functional & Financial Knowledge

  • Solid understanding of project accounting principles.
  • Experience with budget, forecast, cost control, and margin analysis.
  • Knowledge of subledger accounting and financial reporting.
