Job Description

The role will support and execute day to day payroll activities for the countries under our APAC payroll operations. The incumbent will execute end to end payroll processing, support projects, participate and operationalize process efficiencies among other duties. The incumbent will have frequent and regular interactions with cross functional departments and senior management throughout the company. Knowledge of APAC payroll legislation, experience with internal and external audits, statutory and government agencies regulations are required.

The high level role requirements are listed below:

  • Analysis and validation of payroll reports.

  • Complete post payroll audits and reporting, prepare metrics and track errors.

  • Review of current payroll processes to identify areas of process improvements, standardization and risk mitigation.

  • Documentation of payroll processes and procedures as well as creating process maps and payroll training manuals.

  • Actively participating in payroll projects.

  • Interpret pay policies such as holiday worked, overtime, calculation basis for deductions, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etcetera and ensure appropriate amounts or deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.

  • Maintenance of payroll systems and tools ensuring that they correctly compute and record time, process earnings, employee benefits, special deductions, mandated benefits, taxes, garnishments, and other items that affect net pay and/or company liability.

  • Verify compliance with government payroll requirements and maintain knowledge of legislation.

  • Oversee payroll system testing for version and legislative updates.

  • Participate in internal or external audits, and other related compliance documentation required by government agencies.

  • Ensure that all payroll related data is handled in accordance with the company guidelines and policies.

Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Human Resources or other relevant field, or equivalent experience of 5 or more years in APAC payroll as Payroll Analyst for a large multi-country employer.

  • Deep working knowledge in APAC payroll statutory regulations.

  • Exposure and knowledge of working with various payroll systems.

  • Exposure to knowledge transfer activities such as transition planning, knowledge transfer, process documentation, etcetera.

  • Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects.

  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on, growth-oriented work environment with tight timeline.

  • Customer focused, meticulous and with strong analytical, organization and planning skills.

  • Ability to work independently, positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to learn new things.

  • Able to maintain good working relationships with payroll vendors and stakeholders.

  • Proficiencies in automation and use of AI tools.

  • Proficient in English communication skills both verbal and written.

  • Candidates with the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese will have an advantage.
